I love WoW, used to love WoW. I dont know what would fix it, and I dont know what was the thing that made it unfun, but I do know that there is little point of staying on a ship that I no longer enjoy being on. So I gave Final Fantasy XIV a real try.

Honestly, without viewing more than 2 seconds of youre video, i know, by seeing youre furry avatar, that you like FF14 much…. xD
I think it's good to not think about your GC as factions in FF. They're all allies and it has no real baring on your character outside of what city/emblem/color you prefer for your GC. It's nothing like WoW, Aion, ect's faction system.
3:20 here we go, for the horde omg
Anyway, my main complain right now about FF14? Is the lack of Astragalos… aka Oppose Wings or something like that, theyreally got to fix that up big time
A good video. In my opinion the biggest thing that WoW needs to do to make it feel like an MMO again is to give the end game multiple progression paths rather than just raiding and pvp. The casuals need something to do besides just farming older content for mounts, pets, etc.) Crafting, farming, housing, and whatever else you can think of. And don't just funnel it all into the raiding and/or pvp systems.
Love the casual honesty of the review. I'm glad you're having a good time the only part I wanted to ask was if you could elaborate what makes WoW raids just better? I don't have WoW experience and if I'm honest playing doesn't interest me as I don't like the art style and more so I refuse to support Blizzard in any way at this point. That aside I'm still curious as to what makes the raiding just so good?
After telling reason as "all the happening at blizzard" i just don't expect objective opinions about games so i ll leave video there.
I played the ff14 Nier Automata alliance raid…ok WoW has nothing on this lol.
You can turn off spell effects. Its the first setting in character settings.
I know this video was posted a while back, but I am stuck. So I enjoy both games, but it feels like the WoW playerbase is so split. I mainly play mmos for pvp though, is FFXIV pvp alive? is the community not as split as WoW?
Gave FF a go but the gameplay doesnt feel as polished as smooth as WoW. Great story though.
You might be extremely confused come shadowbringers if you've been largely ignoring the story so far (I'd recommend setting some time aside just to get a recap via the neverending story in the inn if you ever end up getting lost at any point in the msq story)
At the end of the day it’s still a final fantasy game so of course there’s a lot of dialogue
Really, in the end, it comes down to one thing: I actually look forward to group content in FFXIV, and I cringe at the thought of having to deal with the selfish, toxic assholes of WoW so much that I left it completely, and I'm not even buying or playing Dragonflight, and have no intention of doing so.
i dont want to play on your server with you because of how you pronounced it.
Lol every player plays their own way, but I will say this, FFXIV’s emphasis is based on story. That is FFXIV’s main core element.
omega biased
The story is a major aspect of FF14. Other MMOs have conditioned their players into believing story is secondary and unimportant.
We see this all the time with WoW refugees skipping through story content and complaining that they don't know what's what.
Skipping the story in FF14 is akin to skipping all dungeons in WoW. You're missing out on a lot of good content.
As another YouTuber explained, WoW is an MMORPG and FF14 is an RPGMMO.
Graphics comparisons are the weakest comparisons to make on these games imo. WoW has very outdated graphics that people like because its "stylized", the problem with that argument is if they made WoW in 2015 instead of 2004, i dont think they would have used that "style". Also, saying WoW is meant to raid and thats why the effects are subdued is also moving the goal posts. The effects are like that because it was made in 2004 and that was good at the time. People like to gloss over the graphical limitations of WoW by saying its a style and performance, which was true in 2004, not 2023.
I used to play world of Warcraft but got bored so I picked up Final Fantasy and have to say it is a lot more fun with so much to do.
The one thing final fantasy is lacking world pvp
