Hi !
This video will show the leftovers of what was once planned to be an Alliance specific faction in older versions of the game. While nothing came of this initially, all this faction needed was a bit of time

I hope you enjoy this video and learned something new about Azeroth, thank you for watching 🙂

  1. Aren't all these ruins across the world remnants of the kaldorei empire that after the sundering were "spread" to the corners of the world? That is why you can find night elf ruins all over the world. I really doubt the hyjal ones belong to any high elf….

  2. High elves got wiped out by the Scourge when Arthas invaded quel'thalas to get to the sunwell to revive kel'thuzard. The ruins which you display at 00:00 are a abandoned zone near ghostlands on a beach, if you fly over it or just land near the tower the zone will change to 'quel'thalas', that's a zone since … forever i guess, not sure if it's left there intentional or people forgot about it.
** Maybe not 'wiped out' since they 'transformed' in a way into blood elves. Just like trolls transformed in night elves for some reason.

The "Silvermoon Remnant" got wiped out from the game because they wanted to create 'The Burning Crusade" and somehow add Blood Elves as a playable faction, it wouldn't fit to exist any kind of 'Remnants' since the new faction needed a racial city.

The "hyjal" part is also a little wrong, they wanted to add Hyjal as a playable zone but they didn't had time.. used the exact zone in a raid called 'hyjal summit' where you defeat Archimonde in wc3 campaign. There's also a big bg which was scrapped but was intended to be like a 'moba' kind of map (jdota/lol etc)

  3. Nice video man!
I'm always so nostalgic for old-school wow, I really wish when they made classic, they opt'ed to take it in a different direction rather then just retreating all the same beats – though with most of hte original staff now long gone from blizzard, I'm not sure I'd trust the modern blizzard with the task :/

  5. That isn't high elf architecture, it's ancient night elf architecture. It was probably co-opted by their high elf descendants in the Eastern Kingdoms, and it's possible the early buildings they made were in the same style, but the buildings in Hyjal are night elf and had absolutely nothing to do with the high elves.

  6. Ideas were tossed around all the time. Orges for Horde, or Furbolg. To claim High Elves were a cancelled faction is just silly. I'm sure at one point Blizzard seriously considered it, just like other race ideas, but they did that with a range of concepts. These things were never set in stone.

  7. It would have been so cool if Theramore could have been a neutral city. I think I read once that Blizz decided it wouldn't work because of the boats, that it would be too easy for Horde players to access Alliance cities if they could just walk freely through Theramore. If so, it's crazy how such a major part of the lore was changed by a game balance decision. Though I suppose a lot about WoW is like that.
