World of Warcraft: Dragonflight is the upcoming ninth expansion pack for the massively multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) World of Warcraft, following Shadowlands. It was announced in April 2022.[1][2]

The Dragon Isles will be the main setting of Dragonflight, and are separated into five zones. The four main zones are the Waking Shores, Ohn’ahran Plains, Azure Span, and Thaldraszus, with the neutral city of Valdrakken in Thaldraszus serving as a hub (similarly to Oribos in Shadowlands). The fifth zone, the Forbidden Reach, also serves as the starting area for the Dracthyr race.[1][3]

Dragonflight will raise the level cap to 70, the first increase since the level squish in Shadowlands.[3] Dragonflight will feature a revamp of the user interface and talent tree systems,[1][3] with two tree branches.[4]

Dragonflight will include a new playable race, the Dracthyr, and a new class, the Evoker. The two are combined: Evokers are exclusive to the Dracthyr, and are also the only class that Dracthyr can play. Wearing mail armor, Evokers have two specializations available to them: the ranged damage-focused Devastation and the healing-oriented Preservation.[5] The Dracthyr can choose to align with either the Alliance or the Horde, similar to the Pandaren introduced in Mists of Pandaria. Dracthyr Evokers are also considered a hero class: they start at level 58 and have a unique starting zone.[1][3][2]

Dragonflight will also feature a revamp to the game’s profession system, allowing players to place work orders where they can commission the creation of items.[4]

The game will introduce a new feature called Dragon Riding, allowing players to raise and customize a dragon that they will be able to use in a new momentum-based flight system using aerial skills.[4] Flying will be available from the start of the expansion, without the need to reach the maximum level.[4]Warcraft is a franchise of video games, novels, and other media created by Blizzard Entertainment. Expansion sets were released for Warcraft II (Beyond the Dark Portal), Warcraft III (The Frozen Throne) and multiple expansions were released for World of Warcraft (The Burning Crusade, Wrath of the Lich King, Cataclysm, Mists of Pandaria, Warlords of Draenor, Legion, Battle for Azeroth and Shadowlands).[3]

At BlizzCon 2018 on November 2, 2018, Blizzard announced a remaster of Warcraft III entitled Warcraft III: Reforged featuring remodeled characters and graphics with a prospective release in 2019.[4] The game was officially released on January 28, 2020.[5]

All games in the series have been set in and around the world of Azeroth, a high fantasy setting. Initially, the start of the series focused on the human nations that make up the Eastern Kingdoms, and the Orcish Horde, which arrived in Azeroth via a dark portal, beginning the great wars. The Orcs came from another world, referred to as Draenor, the world that will be shattered into pieces by demonic magics during the events of Warcraft II, thereafter being known as Outland. Later on in the series the world of Azeroth was expanded, revealing the new continents of Kalimdor, Northrend, Pandaria,

The series spawned several books and other media, covering a broad range of characters and timelines in the Warcraft universe.[8] A collectible card game was published, which offered those who bought booster packs a chance to gain access codes to limited in-game content in World of Warcraft.[9][10] Comics have been released alongside the books, further covering parts of the universe’s storyline. A short-lived, online subscription only magazine was available but later ceased publication after five issues.[11] A film adaptation, Warcraft, was released in 2016.[12]

  27. I always wanted playable draconodis in WoW, but… not this kind. They already have normal looking dragon-like humanoids in the game since first expansion, why can't they just update the models and design? What the fuck?

  29. I think I got it.
    The issue is when the art was made to be pleasing/edgy and especially when it was made to be sexy. These are those artworks. It's a human in a dragon costume and not a draconid.
    When I went to Black Rock Mountain I liked the draconids, all of them were cool, because they were monsters and looked the part.
    And somehow this is true to even the true dragon art they have shown.

  31. Why did you do this Tarriff? The video was hilarious yes but god damn turn off comments whenever you talk about WoW. Its just a bunch of 40+ year olds angry that their headcannon isnt what they get in game. All you've done is confirm that your fan base was hiding its power level (aka cognitive disability rating) this entire time.
