WoW 1-60 Leveling Guide

Blizzard added the Winds of Wisdom buff to Shadowlands last week, granting players an extra 50% experience gains for the rest of Shadowlands.

Now is the time to level a new alt for Dragonflight, or an allied race character for that sweet transmog — or you can wait until Dragonflight pre-patch, when the XP requirements are reduced by 60%!

Either way, Llarold has tips for leveling that can help you make the whole process quick and relatively pain-free.

  1. I’m back in eu and thinking of coming back to wow (played in na servers for years including shadowlands) do we know if covenants are still gonna be relevant during prepatch? Don’t want to go through all that grind again I know it’s easier now but if I come back ima lvl 1 of each tank + a few dps characters

  2. I'm going to use some of these tips and suggestions. I may still level up in Northrend, because the zones are just so nice and music even better. Or maybe I'll mix and match a bit. The daily Torghast runs for 50+ characters was a nice tip too. Will try it out. Here's a new subscriber for you! ^^

  3. I am swapping from Alliance to Horde and trying to unlock the Allied races asap. Do you know if 1-60 in one zone will be available during prepatch or only during DF? If it's only DF, as I think it is, is it best to level a bunch of characters to 50, then wait for prepatch to hit and then continue to 60? Cause if I understand correctly, the exp reduction comes with the prepatch right?

  4. I recently got back into the game for the winds of wisdom buff and 50-60 w/ warmode active probably took around 6-7 hours. This was just strictly doing the campaign quests, no bonus quests or "meta" quests (it was also my first character in Shadowlands so I didn't have access to Threads of Fate or have a flying mount). I hit level 60 before the campaign even finished. That's pretty quick if you're someone like me returning to the game and don't have any of these QoL features unlocked.

  5. One thing, Chromie time does not lock you to an expansion. I usually just stay in Legion Chromie Time, but level in other places like Draenor, Borean Tundra, or even right now I am doing BFA while in legion Chromie time. My dungeon queue is Legion though.
