It frankly baffles my mind the difference in power between entry gear and max. Like, entry is what, 158, and max is 230+ ????
Lets look at s5 wotlk for example, heroic blues (and heroic epics) were a nice round ilvl 200. naxx 25 was 213. hateful gladiators was ilvl 200. deadly gladiators was 213. the strongest weapons were from naxx 25, uniquely 223 from Kel'Thuzad in 25. The highest gear difference you could have as an entry level player was 23 ilvls on your weapon.
