PlayStation is going 3rd party and becoming only a publisher, giving up on hardware sales soon
Microsoft always made PC games since late 1970's. The reason why there wasn't many Xbox/360 games on PC were because the PC market were bad between 2002-2007.
I've been saying this for years "it's a good thing Xbox is around to give PlayStation all of its ideas."
I actually already started shifting my PlayStation games over to PC a couple of months ago. All of the PlayStation games that I hadn't played yet were re-purchased, on a sale, of course, on PC and added to my Steam library. (My PlayStation library is so small, it only made sense to do so.) So this is excellent news for me!
There are just 18 games left on my PS5 that are stuck on that platform since Steam doesn't have those games. After I wax off the last PlayStation games, it will just be the Xbox and PC running this house. (And a wee bit of the Nintendo Switch as well.)
Zero risk by Xbox porting Sea of Thieves to the PS5 they either buy it and Microsoft ports more games or it flops and Microsoft doesn’t port games anymore.
I don’t mind live service games if they are something fun or good. I’m a fan of the division games and how it’s done. But I don’t really want every game to be live service just because they want extra cash from us.
