All the way back in Cataclysm the shattering, destroyed the Gilnean wall and Sylvanas capitalized on this opportunity nearly completely destroying the human kingdom. Since then the state of Gilneas was said to be all but abandoned.

Recently in Battle for Azeroth we’ve seen some action in the Eastern Kingdoms as the Battle for Lordaeron happened and now around the time of Shadowlands the forsaken and horde influence in the north is weaker than ever.

Seeing that the battle for Azeroth never really ended and only a truce was achieved, is Gilneas going to be restored, either in the peace talks or by force?

  1. Logically wise Gilneas should have been taken over by the alliance already. Losing Darnassus would be a logical way for Gilnean to repay Night Elves for all the time they helped. Gameplay wise I don't think we will get anything like that anytime soon.

  2. I kinda hope they make the draenei and blod elf areas becoming revamped during this time skip, where the night elves move in on the island and the undead join up with the blood elves.
Just finally making those zones a actual part of the respective continents and like a staging ground for their respective factions in the ongoing wars

  3. If we get a timeskip/revamp, i think the new Forsaken capitol could actually be Stratholme. From what we know the Night Elves seem to be resettling in Hyjal, so by this logic i don't think the undead will simply retake Undercity. Plus it would put them closer to the Blood Elves. I'm not sure what will happen with the Lordaeron Capitol City itself, but i kind of like that set up. The Alliance dominant in the South/West of Lordaeron and the Forsaken's new stronghold in EPL. Turning places like Western Plaguelands into no man's land between Human & Forsaken Lordaeron.

  4. Doubt
    I hope not at least
That would desecrate the sanctity of the plague
Which is supposed to render the land un-inhabitable for many years, centuries even
Yet again it is a fantasy so it will depend on the plot

  5. Blizz be like: Uh nah no. Retaking it and make it a city again and then what? People be staying there? Nah, they'll still stay in Stormwind.

Well guess what, blizz? You did this in Kul tiras yet you did not put an auction house. What would you expect?
