Raid is pay to skip the grind. You can obtain much of what can be skipped with free gameplay but it takes a lot more time.
Some don't like it. I have paid for gear for my better characters but I dont anymore due.
I personally think that Path of Exile 2 charging $30 for early access is a reasonable middle ground for a free to download game.
I remember when the Scourge were first coming. Naxx would float throughout Azeroth and zombie hordes would show up randomly. IT WAS EPIC!!!

We better get some more closure with Arthas in the Last Titan, his ending in Shadowlands was so fucking weak man. My favorite character in all of Warcraft and the most we got was a floating whisp " its Arthas' soul " like fuck off that all we get from the best video game villain of all time?
