I have NEVER played World of Warcraft in my LIFE! Today and tomorrow I will be playing Classic era (NOT SOD OR WRATH) and then next week I’ll be trying retail!

31:00 ahhh shoulders. What made me love this game in the first place.
I don't understand why Day9 doesn't have a box that regularly shows up on screen to explain the no backseating rules. Some people can't help themselves but others might just be new and not read chat until they have something to say.
try "Fuji" Apples
I really wish he went right into starting a new character on retail after that review/analysis at the end – just for the whiplash.
I thought that I was getting sleepy while playing WoW because something was wrong with me….
Its crazy that they made a MMORPG just based off Hearthstone game
"but this isn't a competitive game" – yeah well buddy… so thought i … so thought i
and OFC he picked mage….. OFC
Heh, it's amusing that Sean is going on about how he has to find stuff by reading, and yet this is the game that ruined all games, because quest helper…
That looks like a cool Warcraft 3 Mod, where can I download it?
Seeing Day9 finally buy Arcane Intellect only to buff the trainer made me spit out my water.. goddamn it
20:20 "I don't even need to be looking at this" with "Target needs to be in front of you" on the screen ended me
2:34:38
I remember deleting my character to have the motivation to get my first job when I was 19
It's amazing that this little indie company went so far as to give you the disconnects you'd get for playing the game in the first week at release for a true classic experience!
The "type /camp" bit gave me a coughing fit
Holy smokes
Hi Day9, you should install VoiceOver addon that adds AI voices to all text and quests with NPCs. 🙂 Very immersive and you can just relax and listen to the quest.
Regarding all of that "clean code" discussion, as I've grown older I tended to abide by two rules (that are kinda the same thing): YAGNI and KISS. "You aint gonna need it" (dont solve maybe problems) and "keep it simple, stupid" (dont overengineer for no reason)
Careful Sean, mmorpgs are the hard drugs of gaming..
The ones that are good like wow can easily get you hooked and end up consuming years of your life.
Ask any wow player, most won't tell you they regret it, but most won't downplay how addicting they can be. It really only takes a small thing like making a friend in game to get hooked in for the long haul.
Every time he goes to the mage trainer and doesn't learn arcane intellect I find myself yelling at my screen
He set bindings as if playing action game like Souls Fails to understand that wow is essentially a 3d point and clicker with adjustable camera.
I had forgotten the extent to which vanilla/classic was a "multiplayer game with space for some alone time" rather than a "solo player MMO with interspaced Co-op-events".
Wait til you gotta find Mankrik's wife.
I like how WoW alowed Sean to ignore his optimization OCD. There are more efficient ways to do everything he did an he could have figured them out himself right away, like the whole kiting thing. But he wouldn't have it, content with chill.
