Here’s something to play in the background =).
I sat with viewers and talked in circles about Legacy Loot mode, basically farming for transmog in old instances as a max level character. In so few words, it needs a MASSIVE overhaul to revitalize old content and get people excited to farm rather than feel overwhelmed. We go over issues, ideas and solutions and question what sorts of player behavior reactions are likely.

1st ever
early …cool
Yep, I agree, lets have them waste a bunch of time deleting items from old loot tables that don't matter so the 1% of players that give a shit about transmog can go farm transmog. There is absolutely nothing better they could put time on except for this. Who needs new content and updates on current systems when 1% of the player base may have to run old, inconsequential, ez mode content a few times to get something that looks special.
And if you couldn't tell that was so dripping with sarcasm I'm fucking drowning in it now.
this is great advertisment for the stream!
didn't they say awhile ago, this was supposed to be a reality back in legion i believe. i never knew why it didn't happen, but i noticed.
Collecting all sets unlocks a meta achievement recolor
Yeah Legacy Loot… I did all the legacy raids last week and got ZERO drops. Im not gonna GRIND that stuff for months to get a 3 year old set.
I think class specific stuff should only apply for current content. It doesn't make sense for it to apply for legacy modes.
And dyes will never happen. It was explained by Blizzard somewhere that each and every item skin would have to be completely retooled for dyes. That alone is a HUGE amount of manpower, and then what will they get out of it?
Why does this dye change the color of my T2 sets, shoulder's rim? That's dumb!
This Dye doesn't change the color of the tassels on the belt of my T7 set, this is dumb.
So on and so forth. The complaints will be never ending, and we all know this. Look at them finally adding elf eye colors and people are STILL whining about not getting the specific colors of eye glow they wanted. Imagine the ridiculousness of dyes…..
I think we could add more loot systems. Legacy loot mode should stay as is. We should add a transmog hunter loot mode that increases the chances you get transmog and allows for you to collect from different armor classes or weapons you can't use. A gold hunter mode that allows for more boe items and raw gold instead of loot drops, maybe even hidden chests in old instances.
Most barriers to entry is time constraints
Different raid difficulty’s could drop different dye colors also there’s so many empty houses and buildings in wow and so much empty space why can’t we have player housing already?
we need to be able to get more drops with Legacy Loot AND no Dupes, i cant tell you how many times i had to farm certain bosses to get my Transmog and Mounts where i'd get Dupes that just make farming that stuff harder. that being said i DONT think you should be able to unlock things that your class cant use, if anything drops should be excluding all but what you CAN use, since you're there to Transmog farm.
I have talked about transmog for so long, I agree it needs to be better and there is a ton of ways of going about it.
but its never going to happen, I want to play and love Warcraft but they make it really hard.
Don’t know this was brought up but what about make 1 man legacy raids 😊
Why cant every raid in the game, just scale by choice to provide gear the same level as current heroic raid tier, so people can go play any raid they like in the game for gear.
3:25 I don't think this warrants putting more FOMO achievements in the game, I think the game needs less of that sort of thing that makes you feel anxious about getting things done on time, especially something like transmog which can just be random. You might just be unlucky and not see the boots drop or something, or it will create negative player friction (at least with the current system) where you trade away your boots, the last piece you need – to someone on your raid team because it's an upgrade for them.
Ultimately, it takes what, 2-4 years for something to go from being prestigious to being relatively easy/lucky to get? I think that's fine, there's new armour, new sets, new mounts all the time, let people enjoy the old things, if someone in 10.0 goes back to kill Nzoth and gets the mount on a 1% drop rate – cool, good for them, I think that's awesome, I got to ride around for a few years being a special snowflake and now they get to enjoy it too.
Make legacy loot bind on account maybe? so you can send it to alts for tmog if they meet max level requirement. Feat of strength also has problems, people won't want to trade gear if its better for others if they lose the tmog for it. Also if you unlock the mythic (or hardest) version of the tmog it should auto unlock all easier versions too.
On dyes, the idea that it devalues the recolors from different difficulties is merely a consequence of Blizzards lazy set design. There is no reason they couldn't add minor 3d elements that become more and more ornate as you go up in difficulty. Imagine LFR as the 'base' set and then Normal and Heroic sets are incremental transitional pieces, up to Mythic, which is the most ornate and complex (as is the case today already).
I think they should change scaling so you are the level of the raid/dungeon, no more boost runs…
probably an unpopular thought.. but still.
Overall I feel legacy loot mode needs a whole lot of TLC. Right it now seems more like an after thought since the level squish and the scaling is way off. While its nothing new in away as old raid mechanics that made soloing or small groups impossible or just plain bad. While you can solo Gorefiend in Hellfire, he despawns if there are not enough players to do the stomach phase, it was fixed that you can solo it but doing it with a friend they can't get any loot since it still despawns. Other thing with Legacy mode, is that Mythic Lockouts should also be reevaluated since the entire instance can be hijacked by overzealous pugs..as sadly I had bee a victim losing out on an Achimonde kill since the portal was pugged for me. overall I just wish for it to be 100% supported as any main expansion feature of the game, since running old content is a big part of the game. As far as rewards go im not sure dyes are it. I can only suggest perhaps to make class based drops increase by a chance for your own class but still being able to unlock other armor types and weapons. perhaps if you wanted to add another system, a way to trade in the drops for items to unlock those appearances. Also gold is a part of it too some old content is decent gold so while to factor in. eitherway it seems that legacy loot mode is in need of a overhaul.
I disagree. If anything, legacy raids should drop less transmog. You already get so much for no effort each run. Giving things away is bad game design imo. I don't like it when Blizzard caters to casual and selfish mentalities. I say make a game where hard work pays off. Not quick easy work for all the things. That's just my view, and I'm the most obsessed person in WoW when it comes to transmog. I grind hard for my mog rewards and like it that way.
Plus it would be weird to change loot tables so you only get what you want. Remember that this is supposed to be a fleshed-out world. Mobs don't just carry exactly what you need. Legacy mobs have legacy items. The stuff you don't need is easy gold. So many people play the game that you can't just change loot for how you play. Maybe some players are being creative with old loot.
just no. I am at 50% of the video now and you are talking about the same things Blizz does: Artificialy making things more difficult to make players play longer for the same content. Instead make the content more interesting, like transforming old raids to something like the mage tower -> solo content
