Classic World of Warcraft clearly had a successful launch, and so has Shadowlands! But, did Classic WoWā€™s launch have an impact on the development of Shadowlands, I wonder? Because, I certainly think so! And in this video, Iā€™d like to talk about my experiences playing Shadowlands so far and how much Iā€™ve enjoyed it. Have you?

  1. So far, I would say there has been an improvement on some things, but not so much in others. I do not feel as "compelled" so to speak about getting so many things done right now. I mainly focus on the two weeklies for Renown, a bit of Torghast for the Soul Ash, and that is really is for the main part. Some might even add getting a +15 Mythic key done or a Raid difficulty but I am focusing on PvP this season so other than working on Ranked Arenas, not much to worry about as compared to that of BFA in my opinion.

The Maw reminds me of Dark Souls more than anything else, given how you can lose Stygia should ya die again after dying one time already. At first I had to be careful where I went, and to watch out for certain mobs and such (Arms Warrior). Food has become something I use more often now which is a nice change as before I had little worry about health. Of course after gearing up a bit, food is again not as needed but is still useful to have just in case.

I chose Necrolord as my Covenant since I like their theme, story and such. As I continue the campaign, I find the decision to choose them as the right choice. For me anyways.

Torghast has been a bit of a handful at times, or at least was at first since some bosses were difficult to defeat if RNG was not on my side with which boss I fought as well as which Anima powers I got as I climb each floor. Though it is not much of an issue anymore other than like the Maw, just got to be careful how you proceed. Unless your one of the classes that had it easier than say a Warrior then it might even be a cake walk now for ya perhaps.

I have seen side lore characters upon my travels and when I notice them it is a nice experience.

Overall, after trying PvP, the Dungeons, Raid, questlines, and checking out the story out I would say that Shadowlands has been fun so far but I do find myself feeling less interested to log in now, but that is something I like since if I do get on I can have fun when I am not getting on to try to keep up with something when talking about daily stuff.

Just my two coppers for Shadowlands thus far.

  2. Still haven't even played Shadowlands. To me it just looks like a filler expansion, don't get the story (+ bfa story was the worst thing they've written for WoW) nor see the point of it because who cares about the after life – it's not something that should be explored IMO. BFA really killed WoW in my eyes and I don't think my mind will change on that until they can prove they can make a good expansion twice in a row again which hasn't happened in a decade, and they also need to prove they can write a half decent story in WoW because after that horse piss in BFA it made me care a lot more about a decent story than ever before.

  3. I'm really loving shadowlands. The quest system is like FFXIV with the main story quest and the side quest with their own stories.
The cutscenes are amazing. Really makes me feel like my character is actually part of the story instead of just being a background character

  4. Shadowlands has been pretty fun. Currently 10/10N and 1/10H making good progress.

Paladin here, and u DK's are annoying too! I just wanna have fun with my friends and mine my ore and then you yank me away! so rude!

For the Alliance! Keep up the great content Nixxiom.

  5. Personally don't think shadowlands leveling is like anything like classic, shadowlands you can still take on several mobs at once and can down them in seconds unlike classic, enjoying shadowlands but feel the classic world to feel more immersive.

  6. Yeah classic wow was a bait for players so they go to retail later on when they are done with classic also level 60 in shadowlands is pure manipulation gj blizz shadowlands is great but blizzard is great to you know why they are masters of ruining their games just wait i hope im wrong but when i look the past few expansions huh

  7. I was really hyped but honestly didn't live up. I'm a relatively casual player (not casual about lore) and I just found a lot of the story was annoying and I didn't like the unnatural aesthetics

  8. honestly, i want a wotlk server where I can play. it was the perfect balance: not so difficult as classic/tbc and not so easy as bfa/shadowlands. I've started playing wow since wotlk and it is the expansion so near and dear to my heart. and when i say that i want a server, i don't mean the private servers (you know, those bugged, full of noobs that ruins your experience and toxic elitists that if you do not have the full progress within a month, they spit on your face, and with quest chains and certain scripts not working on purpose to make you donate those items), but a retail server, like classic wow

  9. I think my biggest issue with SL, is that I don't care about any of the characters or covenants. šŸ˜…
Bastion are all high and mighty, holier than thou kind of thing, feels like basic angels.
Maldraxxis are literally orcs + scourge themed. šŸ˜ Best NPC was the plague doctor with his slimes. šŸ’š
Night Fae, they're just… I don't know how to explain it, they're too fairy tale-esque.
Haven't reached Revencrest yet, but my expectations are low, since they look generic dracula themed (don't correct me, I want my expectations to be low so if they're good, I'll enjoy it more).
As you'd guess, I didn't reach 60 yet. šŸ˜‚šŸ˜… I'm hoping I'll enjoy the game more once I'm done questing. But that's MY opinion so far.

  10. I remain skeptical considering some of the other stuff I have heard, and the fact the extremely MMO-unfriendly aspects (CRZ, LFR, etc.) are still in game, as is the RPG-unfriendly aspects (mob scaling, everyone being able to do everything, etc.) Not to mention I hear max level has the god awful daily grind Blizzard for a hard on for later in WoW's life.

  11. So, I completely agree with this video, makes lots of sense.
But…. I just want to say for anyone who doesnt know, I found Ilthalaine, aka Ishnu-Alah guy, in shadowlands. Heart of the forest 41.17 , 55.06
