World of Warcraft is nearly dead, according to many. An MMORPG whose glory days have long passed, only to give rise to what is now a culture of lackluster gameplay and broken promises. But perhaps hope still remains for the future of World of Warcraft. Dragonflight is the on horizon which promises to be a somewhat decent expansion, as well as the upcoming release of World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King, which is sure to bring in many veteran and new players alike.

Regardless though, these are perhaps the final days of World of Warcraft. Because if Dragonflight cannot deliver, and Wrath of the Lich King dries up – it’s all over. The next expansion after Dragonflight will most likely be under-funded, not too many want to play World of Warcraft Classic beyond WotLK, and it’s just likely that WoW will truly fade away as a good (and sometimes bad) memory in the MMO community. What do you all think though? Is this the last stand of World of Warcraft?

Gonna re-live the glory days of true arena/bg pvp on wrath, and then bail, don't even bother with the new expansion, I would've had hope for it to be good, IF the devs that work there were allowed to implant their imagination/creativity in the game, instead of all the political bs they been pouring in games then yea I would have hopes for a good new expansion, but since its not the case, like I said, gonna play wrath with old friends, and then find me a new game.

  4. Been through all the expansions, no matter how bad they were. Despite having more time than in the past to play I could not bring myself to even level a character to max during shadowlands.

  9. 3:20 – This is a bit odd to me, since the saying among most people has long been "The only thing that will kill WoW is Blizzard/WoW killing WoW."

    Granted, you have other currents going on – the push of corporate gaming into microtansaction hell, many gamers drifting away from MMOs, a more crowded MMO space competing for the MMO gamer players, and a pretty powerful competitor in the form of FFXIV which rose from its own ashes (a story in and of itself) – but the thinking has long been that WoW would still be at the top of the MMO game until Blizzard killed it either through shutting down the servers, a series of bad gaming, marketing, corporate, and public relations decisions, or some combination.

    Which…more or less…has been what we've seen.

    And to answer your question, I quit when BfA came out. Just seemed like a good time and I had already largely drifted away during Warlords and only came back for Legion since it was the expansion I had been waiting for since BC ended. Mostly I play FFXIV these days, following Pantheon (which I don't know if will ever make it or not) and Ashes of Creation (which I like less owing to the PvP focus but am still following its development), but I'm still interested in MMOs, just…not really WoW anymore. There are some things I still love about it, but I'm saddened by what it and its community have become.

  11. They copying "dragonride" they very likely stealing a lot from GW2 and FFXIV maps i cant see dragonfight being counted as "Bad" to the basic people the copum levels are far to high for that to happen there nothing on the maps "but hay it not shadowlands so it good"

  21. In WotLK what I remember as a kid that I enjoyed the most was doing dungeons that felt immersive as well as having its own lore to the Lich King trying to kill all life.

    I remember getting so excited when I collected enough honor or Valor points to get that new high piece of gear.
    I remember feeling excited whenever I collected enough honor points to buy that first tier armor set piece and just awed at it.

    It always felt as if I was going to war to save all life itself and it felt as if I was preparing for something.
    The quests were so enjoyable as well they made me feel as if I was conspiring to stop the cults from aiding the army of the damn. Everything felt connected.

    I’m not quite sure how they could capture that same feeling except removing the intended time-gating processes they’ve added since then, but I’m sure there’s more to it. Also they still had that feeling of survival in the game as well. Now it just feels like you can run out into the world with confidence you’ll be fine. The world of Azeroth is not scary anymore like it used to be so we’re not worried as much.

  23. I've put off playing WoW for years despite being an MMORPG addict growing up. After all the MMOs I played died and got shut down over the years I kind of just gave up on the genre. After craving something new recently, I finally decided to give WoW a proper chance about a month ago and as a new player I am far from disappointed. I haven't gotten to the true grinding or achievement hunting part of my journey yet, but I'm really enjoying just playing through all the stories the game has. Despite it being extremely easy to get through older content when you max leveled. Wish I would have joined years ago to have a Veteran opinion on the game, but non the less, it definatley fits the void in my stomach for new stories and adventures. I understand where to games love comes from now and definatley regret not having been there at the start.

    Curious to see how things last for me in the long run. Really hope that the game gets the attention the community has been wanting for a while though. I can definately see why people have been losing there interest or have just given up. Props to those still sticking around though and to all the new players willing to give the game a chance.

Jesus Christ every fucking expansion the same stupid hype for nothing… You all know its over and yet that self lie must go on… Oh this expansion its going to be different! guys… There has not been any real progress since end of Lich King, even that was last drop of creativity. Same people designing game as in shadowlands – HOW is it going to be different? Magic? 🙂 You all going to buy it and then you all going to ** about it because its going to be what it always is – nothing – a cluster fuck. Hopefully Microsoft will make it free to play and we will see Elderscrolls online version of restoration of the game. Game that has no content asking for monthly fee – its laughable.

  31. Well if anything if dragonflight doesn’t go well maybe make classic wow a branching/different timeline? maybe after wrath we get a cataclysm that plays out differently which starts the deviations into new expansions?

  32. I just don't get it man. Everything you complain about with Shadowlands are aspects I loved lol. The story was engaging and fun to me, someone who isnt a super lorehound or anything. Torghast was fun to run for me, just for the challenge and affixes. The raid tiers have been very very enjoyable and challenging on mythic… And everyone in the game tends to agree… Its only in the twitch and youtube communities that I can find people complaining about these things.

  34. A couple of things:
    What can save WoW, what can save Blizzard, if it's something worth to be saved there, that's gonna be Microsoft, not Dragonflight, or WoW, or whatever. OW2 isn't just "a copy". It's the OW game with a new model that can be good or can be very bad, but it has the power to save a franchise, specially when the PvE comes in. Diablo 4 has managed to raise some eyebrowns, and with the Diablo Immoral fiasco (yes, it was a fiasco, a complete and utterly disaster, despite the millions you think they made, it has been a corporate failiure) a few days away, that's something. And Dragonflight seems interesting. If Microsoft influence has reached the right bells, Blizzard has still some hope to survive. They are the only ones with money and resources to do it, and since they've paid enough money to buy a little european kingdom, you would think they WANT to do it. They want to, if nothing, salvage whatever worth Blizzard has still to offer. We'll see if they can. Microsoft aren't exactly the funniest freak on the circus, if you know what I mean. But they have A LOT of money.
    Now, classic. Classic isn't gonna be, ever, the main attraction. If WoW fails, Classic would not take over. Classic was born as an addition to retail. And it matters not how many people plays one and the other. Retail is the main game and Classic will never have anything new beyond a few fixes here and some features added/taken away there, like the LFG gone for WotLK classic. But that's all. Classic plus will never exist. And after WotLK will come Cataclysm classic, or anything at all.

  43. i have been playing for 17 years now and last two and half years i started streaming on twitch. So 17 – 2.5 =14 and a half years

    14.5 never had any suspension, silence or ban.

    I remember when i first contated them , they still had their real customer service with chat service etc on the website and they always helped me out with anything but as you know with activision blizzardr etc and 800 employees from the customer service being fired , everything went downhill on their side ofc with automated systems etc that they dont want to admit.

    Now i have left some toxic guilds with alot of weirdo's in it and i never knew that they would become my stalkers and harassers in game.

    Those guilds and people have been targeting me suspension afther suspension with false reports untill the perman ban kicked in.

    Everytime when an suspension was over and i started my stream on twitch again, it only takes 2 – 3 weeks to get me suspended or banned.

    I had the same people comming each time in my stream to laugh about my suspension and they said they would never stop. I started banning those people but ofc they come with new made twitch accounts and even come with multiple people from a guild etc so its basically an never ending battle to get rid of them.

    I reached out to twitch and to blizzard and did reports about them but ofc as a small streamer with only three or four viewers they dont give a fuck.

    If i was asmongold or maldiva or whoever big streamer it would be totally different treatment.

    Now the first three times i got silenced

    2 4 8 days

    afther that i got suspended , couldnt log in wow even. the first suspenion two weeks, the second suspension one month

    at this point i raged like crazy in real life

    blizzard wouldnt even show the reason anymore where you see a small portion of text chat what led to penalising me.

    i even insisited multiple times that this isnt right and that i have the right to see why they penalised me for.

    this was for the first supension that lasted two weeks. i really felt fucked over cause they wouldn't even say for what i have been suspended for which is i believe against tos.

    like how you can you change suddenly the system where you sent email and small portion of text chat that they based on to decide if i should be punished or not

    they always sent email and also the small portion of text

    then the second suspension again the same!

    before i got my perma ban , afther my second suspension i wrote many mails to them about having stalkers , harassers and mass reporters

    as answer i got: as long you dont do anything against tos there is nothing to be worried about

    dude wtf

    i never did gold trades , never been hacking or botting

    for my first three silences they followed their sytem: sent me email and share some information with text chat that i have used etc and ok i accept

    but for the three weeks and one month suspension and now perma ban

    zero informationi

    zero mail

    only your account is frozen or banned

    i shared this information about them not giving me mail and portion of text that led to penalty's and my friends said stuff like: must be bug on the website etc they all just wouldnt believe that blizzard is not giving a fuck about their customers.

    before my perma ban which happened 3 weeks ago

    i had a chat wiht a gm

    i told him about them not giving the reason anymore for my ban but just some standard text with your account has been suspended blabla against tos blabla

    and he said i will look into it

    then he said he found out that my suspension was for harassement

    ???????????????

    LIKE WHO THE FUCK I HARASS

    WHO

    ????

    AND HOW I HARASSED?

    LIKE I DONT HAVE TIME TO HARASS

    then another gm i talked with said about the same suspension

    it was for abusive language

    how can you give two differnt reasons

    like what has this game turned into

    at this point i just became crazy mad

    no more trust in gm's

    now i lost 17.5 years investment

    i lost all my mounts , all my weakauras, all my unique stuff i had

    everything

    and i informed them about those fuckers will get me perma banned in the long term

    with the false mass reports

    etc

    and i even rang the bell about its not normal that i dont get to know for what i have been suspended and banned for

    but zero help

    now i have made new battle net account just to see if could still log into wow with a trial account etc

    and to see if its hardware ban

    and its not hardware ban

    but i feel left alone and fucked over by the community and the gm's themselves and the compagny blizzard

    and i don't feel like starting all over again

    if only i had received some minimal support or protection

    i would still make another char and account and start over

    but i had zero support or protection

    in fact i felt even screwed over by gm's now

    for zero understanding

    zero help

    and giving me zero information about my two suspension and perma ban

    cause for the silences they did

    like each time when i come back from penatly

    penatly

    i receive afther one week playing a behaviour warnoing

    warning

    i even mailed them about this

    that this aint normal

    i get punished

    i come back

    and the fuckers start mass reporting

    and i get behaviour warnings

    then i asked for what the behaviour warning was

    they said they coulndt share this infor

    information

    like fuck this compagny

    their gms are useleess

    they invesitgaqte nothing

    everything is automated

    and when you finally get to talk to a real person

    he or she is also lost

    and cant do anyting

    now what would you do

    would you restart everything

    or would you just say fuck it

  45. Tbh many of the concepts like torghast were nice. I also liked the pvp gear mechanic. But shadowlands felt a bit soulless. Also it was like they had like 20 teams which did not communicate wuth each other, just within the teams and every teamleader came up with THE gamemechanic that will define this expansion. We ended up with so many mechanics that i just felt overwhelmed and lost interest.

  46. I think they should make retail and 2 classic servers (1 pve, 1 pvp), same for tbc and wotlk. That wouöd make 6 classiclike server and retail. Also they should really turn wotlk into what it actually was (maybe keep hero+) and if they want something else open up 2 other servers (something like a classic+ expansiom or wotlk+ expansion)
