is Old School Runescape worth playing as a World of Warcraft player? Its a very different type of MMORPG, but is it worth playing? Ironscape just might be…

excited to see your progress!
And firemaking is one of the fastest 99s. 😂
Actually highlights fairly well how osrs can be a bit overwhelming for new players with little help.
Glad you enjoy it, it was actually refreshing to see a brand new players experiance.
First goal is to get good enough for a fire cape
I feel like I just got punched in the dick seeing that you play from STEAM instead of the fucking Runelite client.
This man is about to cook up a spicy gim series. Excited to see more!
Welcome glad you’ve found your way and are enjoying the game
Welcome to the Runescape community. Wait till you discover mid/late game bossing, it's good fun!
I have started playing as well about a week and a half ago after being a lifelong WoW player and im hooked. I will say my experience was similar to yours in that I tried multiple times to get into it and couldnt, but this time I had a friend who started with me. I am now 100 hours in and he is like 200 hours in and we are having so much fun. If you want to start playing bring a friend, its so much more fun to discover the world with someone else that you enjoy playing games with.
End game soon? Oh my man you have so much to learn. xD I would set yourself the goal of Obtaining the "Fire Cape" That will be one of your biggest achievements and will take you a very long time as a new player, don't rush it, enjoy it!
Do slayer
It warms my heart every time another person gets addicted to OSRS. To think someone gets to experience what I got to experience as a child back in 2005 brings me joy.
You should def give an update when you decide to go for the fire cape bro
Osrs is extremely tough for new players, but it's a great game if you get into it
that's such a spooned wintertodt log for 125
Enjoy the game! Would be nice to see more vids from you on osrs
When my adventure started in 2008, my mindset was set on making money to buy stuff and so I naturally picked up woodcutting as my main money maker. I think the beauty of runescape is that you can do whatever you want because there is no linear path to follow, its what being an adventurer is all about.
Most scary throwaway comment in the vid: “hopefully get to the endgame at some point ‘soon’”
– Yeah I’m sorry but that won’t be soon 🙂
Nevertheless many people say for ironman the very endgame is actually one of the worst parts. The journey there is way better
1-99 I did wintertod on my iron. I got the 1/10000 dragon axe on my second crate. (I saved them all) today, I’m farming corrupted gauntlet. I’m currently 1200 dry for the 1/400 drop
The joy of RuneScape is there is no right or wrong way to play
Yeah world of Warcraft I feel like kinda pushes you towards stuff where RuneScape is literally fuckin open
why fletch?
I had the exact same problem with runescape when I tried it last year. Now I know I should have gone questing 😮
That's the best part about osrs, you can do literally anything. You don't have to be doing the best ways to get exp. If you don't know how the mechanics work or content that benefits your character, then just try them out and learn. There is also the osrs wiki which shows everything you'd need to know. You can google "x skill training guide" and it'll show you great ways to get exp for whichever skill you're looking for. Same for money making. "Monkey making guide osrs" will have the osrs wiki at the top link and shows great ways to get good money at any skill level, including combat or skilling. You can also click on each skill to see what you unlock at later levels, that was the main way people would find out what they wanted to work towards earlier on before the wiki was a thing. I still remember as a kid clicking on attack and just wanting to get up to the dragon weaponry and same for armor. Same thing applies nowadays.
Doing ironman as your first playthrough of runescape sounds like hell lool, but gl

40 hours and thinking you will get to the end game is pretty funny.
Hope you enjoy the rest of your journey! Personally, i love making a goal and working towards it
My personal approach to games, is that IF I feel like I need a guide to reach the point where I can enjoy the game. I'm not going to bother.
The nice thing about RS in my opinion is that you can do as little or as much as you want. You dont need to reach 99 on every skill. And you don't need to do any quests.
You start out, and what you do, is what you choose yourself. There are a few unlocks along the way. But for the most parts, your skill and knowledge are the majority of obstacles.
I always ban minigames for my playthrough, because I enjoy building some connection to the world by walking to a location, and grabbing what resource is there.
It definitely offers a lot more gameplay freedom than WoW. And I love both these games equally, but for different reasons.
Subbed, more of this pl0x.
“Hopefully get to the end game at some point soon” I don’t mean to be the bearer of bad news here but the end game of osrs is like 300-400 hours away if not more. It takes an average player 1500-2000 hours just to max all skills let alone go for boss drops or do raids. The end game is just as convoluted as the early game where you really can’t know the most efficient boss order or the best items to go for without significant experience and hours dedicated to studying exactly what items would be most beneficial for the next encounter you want to pursue. Ironman is complicated that way. But the best of luck to you.
Playing an Ironman is honestly a better way to learn the game because it helps you understand what each item does for example a herb like a grimy harrlander most people know that it is for herblore but an Ironman knows that’s used to make energy pots so you will learn more about why certain items are important rather than the item just being something you can sell for gp

If this game was for nostalgia it would be dead, just like it started to do so at the beginning when there were no updates
