  1. I never before thought of a parallel between Anduin's "corruption" by the jailer and the old god/ sargaras sword corruption happening to Azeroth now. Is Azeroth now feeling the same helplessness and emptiness Anduin described to Sylvanis? Interesting and very sad.

  2. Ah damn it … dont tell me the story in the new expantion will mainly deal with issues.. psyk issues someone has… 'the world within" –> the thoughts and conflict inside someones brain/mind….. :/

…whatever happened to just give us some cool locations… lots of badguys to kill and "big muskular sweaty men / orc etc battling to the death"…. proper "war"…. a "war of warcraft"…

  3. Since Anduin is a priest-first, can we see him in shadowform? With all that turmoil and play woth shadow/light and duality of these forces, light are not really goody-good too

  4. Part of me finds it funny and silly that Anduin is concerned the light wont answer him because of the "bad shit" he did, but never occurs to him that the Scarlet Crusade throws the light around like confetti and they've done worse (heck you could argue Turalyon (might have or could have) done the same thing under the light, and even Yrel was probably doing that too though I don't know how much Anduin knows of her).

Off topic though, I saw in some screenshots the Botani appearing again and there was a model of an "earth giant thing" from WoD coming back. Did they actually remember that happened?

  5. my wild theory was that the light crystal in WOW Season of discovery is the TIP of the light crystal / naaru in the new zone. I am even more convinced of this theory because of that "recently" comment. Although recent in this case is like… 2800 years before WoW or something
Also, I think Faerin is Anduin Lothar's grand(grand?) aunt.
Here's why: It is most likely that this Arathi have splintered off some time after the troll wars. Lothars could have been an old family line (would fit Anduin's insane speech skills too).
If you pay attention, Faerin's model has pointy ears indicating she is half-elf, so its possible she was young / alive when people first moved to hallowfall (could have been a child of old Lothars starting a family with newly found allies i.e. high elves). High elves also worshipped light, so if they heard about a light crystal falling somewhere in the middle of arathi highlands, they's probably join the expedition.

  6. Sounds to me they give new characters these names just to give legitimatcy so that it's supposed to be warcraft enough. Like partying with thrall jaina and anduin gives an aura of legitimacy while playing through shadowlands even though it was the least like warcraft expansion ever.

  7. I am curious if they ever explain where she comes from, who she actually is, ect.
Or if they just throw her in as a Lothar with little to no explanation expecting us to connect to her simply due to the name alone.

  8. Let me guess, the direct descendant of Lothar is a black chick. Yup , checks out. Also, miss me with the Diablo4 aestetic, ok ? This is god damn Warcraft, not some mediocre aRPG.

  9. There seems to be some conflicting information about when these Arathi came there. The fact that they call themselves "Arathi", and have developed their own culture that still somewhat resembles the human cultures we know suggests they were sent there during the height of the Arathi Empire which was centuries ago. Though the name "Lothar" implies this lady might be related to Anduin Lothar, though she's likely of a different branch.

I also don't remember when exactly the Naaru first contacted humans telepathically which is how the Church of the Holy Light was born. Though these "Holy Arathi" do imply this might have happened as early as during the Empire. The Naaru might have recognized the courage and devotion of humanity early on. It's also very likely the giant crystal in Hallowfall is related to the Naaru, whos whispers guided them to this sacred location many years ago.

Speaking of Anduin Wrynn, if anyone could help him overcome his trauma and reconnect with the Light, it might be these Arathi.

  10. If they have a descendant in the Lothar line back a down-and-out Anduin as the rightful King against a Light-corrupted Turalyon, they have so many solid themes to play with it's not funny. I hope they have Christie Golden on the dev squad instead of in the bleachers with no lore information, and I hope Metzen is more than a figurehead and is corralling the general direction of the creative team, this has so much potential it hurts lol

  11. Also it seems that black people weren't enough for in some of the new children models that I saw for this expansion there were a couple of Asian kids as well which is a bit strange cause don't we already have Pandaren for that?

  12. Interesting note, the warcraft movie has Lothars sister be varian wryn's mother. I do get that it's not the same as being in game, but i have trouble understanding why that would have been so without blizz wanting it that way
