World of Warcraft Shadowlands is receiving a major update in Patch 9.1.5. After many players have recently quit the game, Blizzard is looking garner interest by removing covenant restrictions as well as improving the PvP gearing system. They also announced the release of Classic Fresh as well as various other changes. However, I don’t believe these changes justify revisiting the WoW until they continue to listen to feedback from their playerbase. And although the changes in patch 9.1.5 are a step in the direction, it sadly feels like an attempt revive current subscription numbers.

  1. It's simple they hold out on quality of life improvements so they can later on put them in to have a short term boost in player numbers. It's been going on for years.
They do this because it easier and cheaper then actually improvementing content to keep players and it's important to note they kept players doing the above so it's wasn't necessarily.

The big tell here is that they still aren't actually learning. Ie the current campaign skip should be implemented as well so while it's nice that you can skip previous content skip if they actually did what's needed players shouldn't ever need to redo content over and over on alts ever.

Bottom line they don't want to spend the money needed to make long term playable content just recycle old and low effort things and time gate/time gate things to later fix it to get player retention.
It's like they're fine with spike players numbers because it's a sub based game.

I've always send it any grind should never be a repeatable thing in any moden game apart of the core of the game itself is raids, mplus, pvp in wow example.
The only reason you would ever make things out side of the core things repeatable is because you want low effort and cost things to try to force/slow down player progression because you don't have or want to spend the time and money on actually content.

It's all cheap and nasty business and to me proves wow is in less see how much we can ride/suck this cash cow.

  2. Dear god, weren't you done with this game? You made a video about you quitting. Yet for whatever reason you felt the need to make another one. My guess would be attention.
    Move on already.

  3. You can go to the blizzard forum or youtube comments you'll read "Any change is good change"…Like what? What kind of mentality is that?
These are the same people blizzard keeps milking for money. They accept the bare minimum instead of expecting more from their 15$ sub.

9 months without content and now they're in full gear to push a .5 patch with more content than most other .5 patches lol…

  4. this guy says all the true and he is 100% right! we pay your fucking bills… you just made the content for us to use money to be able to have the best game in the world, and now you are not the best and you dont provide the best game in the world … so i have something to say , fuck you and have a nice day!

  5. Stoopzz you're the man for these videos and I really appreciate all your content that for the longest time came from a place of genuine benevolence and with intent to make the game better. You can only get shit on for so long man.

I hope you don't go back to WoW. I hope none of the major streamers that have left will, because I think this is one of the biggest things panicking Bobby and his boys, the brand is dying. Maybe the game can be rehabilitated from its current lowly state, but not without a significant shift inside Blizzard. They need to replace a lot of key staff, they need to get a plan together and get time to execute on it. It will be at least a year before anything WoW can be quality. I don't want the "placate the public" patch where they just act on all the biggest pain points. I want thoughtful game design from competent developers that actually listen to feedback, I want a game release that doesn't feel like it was designed to drag me through a bunch of shitty chores to make me log in every day. I want to enjoy the World of Warcraft. I want the lore to have some actual attention paid to it again and be amazing like it used to be. I want a game that draws my friends back in and makes for a quality social experience instead of LFG tool and boost culture.

Simply put: I want it to FEEL good to play WoW again. The team working on the game currently is incapable of that and has proven that for multiple expansions now. It will be a while before it can be amazing again, and I'm even willing to wait, but don't go back to supporting this toxic and abusive company until they show they're capable of substantive, meaningful change.

  6. Or they do this cycle for pr reasons , so they can say they listen to players even though they planned it all along. It's almost as if straight from illuminati textbook; Create the problem, encourage the reaction "something must be done", and then offer the solution. It is summed up by the Freemason motto 'Ordo Ab Chao' -order out of chaos.

  7. devs think they own the game, blizzard has been "educating" the player base for years, thats what they do and how they think of themselves. it took like what, 10 years? for kids finally grow up, and walk away from this shit.

  8. Nothing that this coming in this patch is enough for me to come back.

    1. The covenant swapping still requires a grind so as a returning player I STILL HAVE TO GRIND to the point where I can swap. Seriously what even is that.

    2. Still nothing regarding a catch up system for gear acquisition for pvp or pve. So I still would have to slog for weeks to even play with my friends at what they would currently be doing (they all quit anyway so doesn’t matter).

    3. No masterloot still. In a world where SPECIFIC pieces matter so much (domination gear, tier sets, etc) master loot is integral to smoothing frustrations of literally censoring gear I can’t trade and don’t even want.

    4. Still lego grinding. As a returning player or if I wanted to role a new character I would have to do weeks and weeks of torghast to get the materials to catch up on my lego and spend extortion levels of gold for the item on the auction house as well. What even is that?

    5. Lego recipe and conduit acquisition is still terrible. People needing to do a raid no one is playing for their recipes is actually terrible. Having to get conduits from m+ is also a slog. I don’t care if there isn’t energy anymore if it will still take forever to get a character to a state to cooperate with anyone who didn’t quit.

Overall, I’m still glad I quit. This patch is so obviously the team begging for players to return. It is also an admission that they KNEW that these issues were disliked heavily enough to be changed during this emergency of player exodus and still purposely didn’t change them earlier. So no I’m not an abused ex returning to the abuser because they fixed the immediate issues of the most recent time I left. They haven’t changed. No one should believe it and I hope no one comes back because they were given these crumbs.

  9. It's a sinking ship and that's why these MOFO's are making such changes. Let WoW die a bit more, let it die to the point where all these brain-dead developers who have no love for this game leave or are shifted to other games. Maybe then we'll have someone who can better design it, and make it actually enjoyable… Also fuk Wow copium Andy's.

  10. I really like the way you put this in perspective compared to other "former wow players with crazy eyebrows". You pretty much hit the nail in the head that this has taken too long. What the others aren't saying is what you did say, the changes are good! These are good changes and needed changes, but as we've known for 10 years, blizzard doesn't care about the players anymore. Maybe with the loss of so many, publicly, they will decide that people are paying for entertainment and they aren't providing a comparable level.

  11. The major problem with pvp is that we have pve gameplay in pvp that is so far from what the pvp could feel
If you play mist of pandaria you can only agree that the gameplay can be 10000 Time better and this was ten year ago holy shit

  13. Blizzard's vulture culture treat games fixes like ground-breaking features.
To hell with these people, they don't deserve our money. And to hell with the copium addicts, let them waste their money and time into what has essentially become a scam.

  14. they pulled that ripcord earlier than expected. I guess the hemorrhaging of players finally caught someones notice and didnt think waiting until 9.3 was feasible.

  15. 4:24 Agree 100% there. It's all the borrowed power man they are all so unbalanced. When you can get one shot at any point of a match by a Convoke or The Hunt, that not competitive or fun nor is it fun to watch, At that point it becomes less about the players skill and experience and more about who can land their stupid OP ability first. I just want one Xpac where we don't have to lean on some stupid borrowed power system so heavily ( or at all ) The only way I come back to this game is if they announce the release or WOTLK classic.

  16. I’ve been a diehard fan since the RTS days and they’ve lost me. Not only do I not want to play WoW anymore in it’s current state, but I also don’t even really wanna play any of their other IPs. It makes me a bit sad because I’ve enjoyed their games for so long, but honestly enough is enough. BFA had me pissed off, Shadowlands is where I finally drew the line. I’m not going to waste anymore of my time with half-baked systems and stubborn devs who think they know what I like better than I do.

  17. i am glad at least someone can see the elephant in the room, all the others channels are wetting themselfs with videos like "Blizzard just save wow !!!" like they were heroes now while they just could do all this much better since the begining

  18. Balance will not force you to lvl alts. If you're "motivated" to lvl alts because of unbalance, last thing they want you to do is to make it easy. By the time your alt is ready -it's no longer cutting edge performer and you feel like you wasted your time. It is a fucked up loop to keep you running the rat race.

  19. My god, the community needs to realize it’s as bad as the devs. It’s “they won’t listen to us, they won’t hear our feedback” and then when they do it’s “this is a year too late, they should’ve done this ages ago”. It’s impossible to please you people with anything less than perfect, which the devs have clearly shown they’re not. So leave the game to those who enjoy it and move on to something else.

  20. Honestly idgaf what they do at this point, it's become personal for me. As a loyal player of 14 years, I take these recent changes as a big f***k you to my face. I'll bring my loyalty to Warmane's WOTLK server..

  21. Bit on a fence here. I do think the changes are good, I still enjoy that playing the game on my level, but I dislike people harassing others because they moved on. Still liked the video man. Be critical with the game and hope the cycle eventually breaks. At least I do.

  22. They knew these changes were needed, but they thought they could milk the playerbase for another year before they had to make them. Lazy and incompetent. Bliz literally only sees their playerbase as a revenue stream and it shows. Not going to support them anymore period. Friends may rejoin, CE raiders may reach out to me asking me to come back, but I'm dunzo. Everyone said when Rift came out that the only thing that can kill wow is WOW/bliz and to me, they've already done it.

  23. They are only doing this for financial reasons, or strictly speaking "Earnings Report". Every quarter they have to present to the investors how much MAU (monthly active users) they have, and if the numbers decline, the stock price will plummet. It's simple. Its not wrong in the capitalist society we live in, but it is bad for the gamers. IMO people who are blindly subbing to a game that does not regularly offer content or changes players want only after the fact that MAU is dropping shows that Blizz is no longer a company that gives any shit about you as a player, they just care to extract as much $$$ from you so that bobby can purchase another yacht. In addition the incident of sexual harassment sheds light that this is no longer a environment for people to focus on developing games. no fucking wonder the game sucks. And yet people still sub to this game? IMO you are either a delusional hardcore fanatic unscrupulous gamer or a new casual
