for destro how viable will necrolord still be? mainly I pvp so I know you might not know about that as much, but i will still run +15s and probably heroic raids. how much of a deal is covenant choice at that level?
Yo kal I know your videos are mostly PVE centered but I'm curious on your opinion for best covenant for pvp? A lot of other locks I've spoke with are going to be going with Venthyr and my question is how much do you think I will be hurting myself in pve if I go with venthyr myself. Again, great video and always looking forward to the next!!

Thanks for the info, hopefully we will see some retuning for necro and venth either before launch or a little post launch but for now it looks like I know what ill be picking.

I love Night Fae for the mobility but being forced to play anything other than Drain Soul on tier 1 is heartbreaking….aff without DS is sad

Venthyr looks pretty fun as an Aff lock. Even if it's not the strongest damage, it looks like fun gameplay that can be pretty solid in mythic +. Great Video!
I have a though for night fae Affliction. When I aoe, if I dots, soul rot, rapture then drain life, will damage looks good?

Are going to test more the Venthyr covenant ability?
it's very hard to compare kyiran and vernthyr ability cause the different of single target dmg and aoe dmg but what i think.
I dont like the conduit from Kyrian for the covenant ability. When you look at the Covenant ability from Venthyr you'll see that you'll be able to play this even as single target option cause you with the dot will last for minimum 18 sec. So in the burst window you got the same number of dots on your target compared with Kyrian. When it comes to M+ it's even stronger. The Style of the affli is looking right now prepare you Malefic Rapture Burst and then try to get as much shards back as possible for the next group.
In Raiding with venthyr ability i think you'll play affli like right now on live server –> use malefic rapture only in the Phantom singularity window otherwise just try not to cap.
So in the end venthyr looks in every situation stronger even when you re not looking at the utility of the curse which it brings.

Thanks for the video. Really detailed analysis. Very helpful! I am going Venthyr no matter what. I've got two pretty solid good reasons for that: My warlock is Affly (perfect and cool for the covenant ability), and he is a Gnome who loves parties. So, yeah, it was a no-brain decision for me! 🙂
My warlock is going necro but I mostly PVP. Just makes sense for PVP
this is depressing. I've been looking forward to play Demonology and to have Demonology be "good". Next, I've been really wanting to play Necrolord….and to be effective in raid I've yet again have to play Destro/Aff and be a goddam angel… (╯°□°）╯︵ ┻━┻
Yeah….. Warlocks are definitely NOT gilded golden angel status….
I guess my "choice" is either: Hate my pick, and be optimal, or pick something cool, engaging, and fantasy-friendly, and be suboptimal. Thanks Blizzard.

The numbers and stuff is gonna change after a few weeks anyways I figure. So pick something that looks useful and fun. I just don't think the numbers and stuff matter so much right now…..
What would be a real pain is. You chosing the best dps covenent only for blizz to tune an other cov to be best a week into raiding.
