I haven’t played wow, but I did play Warcraft 3/ frozen throne campaign. The reason was because my mum did pay for the subscription. Now 26 i can’t be fucked picking up/trying wow, because it’s not the same as back then.

Now that I think about it Arthas and Illidan are kinda the same person because they both sacrificed themselves for their people, and a lot of people around them betrayed them.
you know so many people dont remember this but even the reason that we could defeat the lichking and the undead armies was what little remained of arthas since he was holding them from destroying the whole world.thats what uther told jaina in wotlk

The ending scene of wc3 frozen throne, where arthas was climbing the stairs to the throne, is the ultimate representation of what he was going through psychologically and emotionally…

I think arthas just wanted to let go of the burdens he was carrying at that time as they were overwhelming… And nerzhul offered him a way to do it.
