The Jailer's Death Cinematic Reaction | World of Warcraft

Read more about Shadowlands ➜ https://worldofwarcraft.mgn.gg

Jesse reacts to the WoW Shadowlands finale. The confrontation with the Jailer at the end of the 9.2 Raid Sepulcher of the First Ones is here and it’s time to see what 20 years of WoW has led to. Will the Jailer’s cryptic and unknown plans pay off? Will Blizzard salvage Shadowlands?

Jesse has spent the last 15 years playing World of Warcraft, and before that Warcraft 1-3. What does this long time fan think of where the series has gone?

  1. The part where he says "This is how I feel…" Gets me every time. It's so true but so funny at the same time. I hate this. They tacked on the "20 Years" thing purely out of jealousy for the hype of Endwalker I feel. Like FF was sitting here like "Hurray see us bring our story to a close!" and "WoW is just over here like Err Uh um US TOO SEE!!! REMEMBER THE LICH KING THIS IS LIKE THE….SUPER LICH… GOD!" I am just…so disappointed.

  2. As someone who hasn't played this expansion since the first couple weeks, I'm gonna go ahead and assume this "divided cosmos cannot survive" stuff is basically foreshadowing for merging the two factions. And honestly, I hope so. It kind of ties their hands a bit with what they're able to do with the story. It was like when every new spiderman had to have an origin story section to it. So much wasted time. Having everyone on one page against the doom-of-the-month makes more sense anyway.

  3. I feel bad for WoW players as they've recently been getting hit with consecutive Game of Thrones Season 8 experiences.
Edit: Also whoever is in charge of the writing and the story's direction for this game just needs to quit or at the very least be placed elsewhere but at least they can't hurt you no more Zorval.

  4. 20 years my ass. They looped in plot points just for hype and then never delivered on any of it. There is no weight to this story. No pay off. Just devs who half way through found out they couldn't pull it off and just pulled out the rug.

  5. So its a /really/ shitty version of End Walkers plot. "I'm ending it now, cos it will end eventually." Except the whole concept of entropy isn't even broached the WHOLE expansion, and he doesn't even say it directly like that.

  6. oh please shut it, when 10.0 comes out you will be just like all of us: waiting on queue. then once in we will praise blizzard for such a new good game; until we get board of the game once again…and of course after a few weeks we will revert back and yell at our screens "Blizzard you idiots, pay attention."….but oh well.

  7. From the studio that brought you "this evil race is actually a good/just/noble race that has been corrupted and is going to redeem itself, even though nothing in their previous canon has hinted at this" three seperate times.

  8. This is what happens when the logical end is coming up and you need to expand out the story because you want to make more games. WoW 2 needs to happen, wrap up every storyline and just say, a new adventure in waiting.

  9. this gives me a few thoughts.
    spoiler for FFXIV endwalker btw.

It's similar to endwalker but done the opposite and it doesn't work. Meteion starts at this little girl and becomes a galactic threat and you understand the fear that motivates her.
This seems to start as a galactic threat to end up on a dude, which in a lot of ways is similar, but lacks all the impact.

It also reminds me of superheroes and why batman is better than superman. because batman can have joker as a legitimate threat, and superman needs doomsday.

  10. While this chain of "shitlords working to prevent something far worse" is kinda tiring, since you can only play the "bigger fish" card so many times before it gets stale, I'm still kind curious as to what the hell is worse than the Legion, the Void Lords, and Death. What is out there that's bad enough to motivate him to rewrite reality itself? Unless he was trying to do something super-meta, like remove the existence of conflict and thus remove war from Warcraft, I can't think of anything.

  11. Sounds like World of Warcraft been on a cycle starting from Starcraft 2 then put on repeat. Or maybe this villain trope is the only one writers know how to write.

  12. I kinda started laughing when I realized that The Jailer is a big fan of Abraham Lincoln… 5:34

A cosmos divided will not survive, much like a house divided will not stand… Great job writers, really flexing those creative muscles… In fact, now that I typed that first part out it's even more funny how it's THE JAILER and Abraham Lincoln's big thing was freeing the slaves… Idk, I feel like there's something there that's just ironic to that…

  13. The community is the problem, you all keep playing this game and buying their shit off the store, you've had fun for the most part 15+ years , time to move on everybody, you'll still have your memories.
When they see it's no longer profitable to sustain their formula for upcoming expansions , and people aren't playing, cause they want something new, we'll see them develop on a new MMO.
Until you all change your ways, this is what you'll get.

  14. As much as I hate having Sylvanas be a raid boss. this whole set of cinematics and stories should have been Sylvanas pushing for this the entire time. She used Anduin and Used the jailor to get the result she wanted.

  15. Its official Arthas won and all these expansion are just the Tormented visions he shows our Risen heroes to Torment us and destroy our spirit. Either that or I pray that when we left WOD we entered the wrong Dimension and this is all backwards upside down world.

  16. The big bads of 10.0, the ‘Ancient First-Titan Voidlings’ that he was alluding to—have set in motion a mysterious “heat death”, that will snuff out all of existence! The titan voidings are the true unmakers of reality!

…unless the heat death was set in motion to prevent something much more sinister from happening…

  17. Blizzard: Oh yeah, uhh, this is also totally the end of our story arc too guys. We can also end stories like Final Fantasy can!

Also Blizzard: Fails to even do that because they can't help tacking on the "I was just trying to stop the greater evil that is coming!" line.

I can't wait for The end of the 20 year story part 2: This is really, really the end this time guys, we promise. Would we lie to you?

  18. Obviously what the jailer is trying to stop, is something that will be trying to stop something far worse.

Eventually we'll reach the last last boss who was actually just trying to stop us all along so they can tie this into a nice big circle.

  19. plot twist it wasn't the real jailer, it was his clone. he will come back and fight a new mary sue character named Rey and all the ghost will come help her defeat him. and he will fall and warn us saying he did it to prevent something that is coming… again. Blizzard just can't think of anything original to do they lost the ability to be a gaming company and not a lawyers boardroom with stockholders.

  20. The fact that there is something bigger is coming proof that this isn't really an ending of years of story, and Blizzard said that only because Endwalker hype.

  21. Don't worry, Taliesin will soon release a video deep diving into every second of this trailer, explain how this writing is actually much deeper than all of our simple brains can fathom, and then proceed to call everyone who dislikes it wrong for doing so. 🙂
