This add-on may be good for many people, but it’s not right for me, at least for now.

  1. Personally I don't like RestedXP, because it takes away a lot of decisions that I like to make myself. Thinking about what quests I wanna do and planning the route already in my head is part of the fun for me. But at the end of the day everyone has to decide for themselves what addons they wanna use. I think that is the upside of how vast the addon landscape is in WoW. Everyone can customize the game how they like. What makes me really sad tho, is seeing how many new players are using RestedXP and are therefore struggling to find their way around the world without the arrow. Learning the game without it might be less efficient but you will actually get to play the game yourself and you get to know the world… of warcraft. That is a skill in itself, in my opinion

  2. Everyone is too black and white about it. Yeah, blindly following restedXP kind of kills the vanilla experience, but also without Rested XP you end up in certain areas severely under leveled which makes the game far less enjoyable and gets you killed in hardcore. Use RestedXP, just don’t be strict about sticking to it. Use it loosely as a guide to help you understand where you can go at your current level

  3. If you are new to the game yeah I'd agree that using this addon is a terrible idea. For those of us who have been playing for 20 years and have put 15k+ hours into gameplay, addons like these are pure gold. At this point I want to mindlessly blast my way to level 60 as fast as possible.

  4. You think you do but you don't.

The first thing I remember reading about people wanting vanilla wow back was due to its social and difficult game play aspect.

Those same people rush to 60 and then raid log.

  5. I play HC wow with zero addons. They absolutely cheapen the game. It's cheating. In any other game we would call it cheating. So bizarre how MMOs have become "follow the marker" and it's by player choice.

  6. I find it pretty bizarre and, frankly, sad how a lot of veteran MMO players seek to regrasp the feeling of being new to a game (e.g their time in Vanilla WoW back in 2004) and then go on to optimize the crap out of their gameplay through guides and/or addons for everything regarding the game they're playing at that moment, only to feel 'dissatisfied' by the experience at a later date.
When leisure becomes a second job, it's time to quit and reevaluate.

  7. This is understandable. My problem when I used it was I was over-leveled or to far behind in steps.. it was kinda frustrating. Honestly as a new player I have to commend Grubby for even trying RestedXP, I probably would’ve avoided it like the plague – Then again I don’t play hardcore wow lol xD…

  8. There is NO NEED FOR SPEED. Classic is not about Speed Running. The FOMO of the ONLYFANGS is a self-generated lie. There is no rush, especially in Hard Core. Don't let idiot guild leaders push you into stupid drama either. Cooperative play works better.
