  1. Wow has never felt so boring in all my time playing. for them to remove the feature of skipping covenant campaigns days before release just feels like a slap in the face and that the devs are at odds with what the players want. Even legion timewalking isnt enough for me to come back because 9.1.5 just doesn't cut it. the changes are really nice and I'm really bummed i didn't get to experience any of the QoL in the past year of playing, at this point i just don't care about 9.1.5 anymore and that makes me so sad.

  2. The real question is, will covenant swapping RESET my renown back to 1? I have renown 80 as Kyrian and if I want to do night fea and after that go back to Kyrian, will be my Kyrian renown at lvl 1? And not just that. HOPEFULLY it wont reset covenant sanctum upgrades too or i'm gonna be completly mad. I grinded that stuff for a year.

  3. Lose timegating, and borrowed-power systems forever. Since Legion, they did nothing progressive with the game, BFA and SL is just another sub-par Legion 2-3. Wish I could be interested by the game again, but its just terrible.

  4. About world quests: Before shadowlands. Again.. it was a problem of min maxing. You only tried to do the quests, where you just had to kill one mob. You ignored everything else besides item upgrades. You even ignored gold quests, because it was mostly only something around 120 gold etc.

To fix that, they introduced more complex quests in shadowlands. But the problem is the missing quest text. So you have to alt tab and search how it is done on wowhead…. I personally prefered to do them in the beginning, but of course after 1 month, youve seen them all and now you wish to have an easy way again with just killing one mob in brain afk mode. Imo they have to implement more quests every 2 months or so. They dont have to write a whole story about it, but just change the spawn and have some varirity. This prevents getting bored and have you getting something fresh. In Korthia they kind of did it, but the area sucks because of other reasons you partly already mentioned.

About covernents: I agreed, that the choice mattered, but there were to major problems:

#1 they were all allies anyway after the campaign. And then you had to chose. Its not like Aldor vs Scryer where they hated each other to the death.
#2 The choice affects performance, not the visuals. If you are a heroic+ raider or a decent arena gamer, you HAVE TO chose the best covernent for your class and spec, not the covernent you want. And the worst thing. EVEN if you have chosen on covernent, you couldnt switch between specs because of the conduit energy. So you raided before as tank and want to heal arena? Bad news for you. You just can do it with wrong or inferior conduits. Good luck beating teams as good as you having the right spec. Haha. Such a fail Blizz…

  5. I'm overwhelmed by the number of mediocre progression systems and the time gating. I think Legion was so much more fun and straightforward and rolling an alt wasn't a nightmare. Edit: I agree, I use to love world quests. Now they're so bad.

  6. If content is gonna have to last this long, move RTWF onto a tourney realm and make Mythic raid flex. On top of all the other stuff. The game needs to recognize that guilds are the soul and blood of the game and we need the game to build around guilds better.

  7. Blizz: how do we fix problems?
Top that doesn't play the game: time gating!
Blizz: how do we keep players?
The same top: time gate the shxt out of them!
Blizz: how do we create content?
The same top: you can't have too many time gating!
Blizz: so we are facing this law suit….
The same top: ever heard of time gating?
Blizz: so we need to fix workplace…
The same top: time gating will fix everything!

  8. They’re NOT pulling the ripcord here. They’re putting it behind an attunement – max renown. More time-gating. Even the “fixes” in 9.1.5 don’t really feel great.

  9. Its funny how a game like Valheim, witch actually reminds me a bit of wow classic and is a 5 man team, does sooooooo much better then retail wow.
Really don’t get, why people still play retail🤦🏻‍♂️

  10. 10.0 seriously needs to cater to a casual audience if they want WoW to bring in numbers again. I'm talking Player / Guild housing, Making use of all the legacy content. Making it so classes and specs function without the need for borrowed power.

The fact a new player can't experience any previous raids just baffles me after playing something like FFXIV

  11. Shadowlands is the worst expansion ever … the game devs just hand out rewards for free and there’s nothing to sync time in eventually getting a very powerful reward . Instead the wow devs got dooped by lazy dads that stink at the game and complained they didn’t feel like grinding essences and corruptions. Then un sub . Bfa > SL

  12. Alt unfriendly, no renown/conduit/Stygian ember&Shard catch-up, have to redo the same korthia campaign, and possibly the worst, have to raise M+ score even if your main is 2k+ to upgrade gear.

“Ever-green” features like personal loot only, low amount of overall gear drops in raids are also terrible.

  13. A number of the worst things in WoW, in no particular order: alt unfriendliness, time gating on everything including player power, borrowed power systems, constant content droughts, Blizz's arrogance and hatred of the players, designing everything solely with "player engagement" and "player retention" in mind and never on what is actually fun, the nonsensical story entirely made of nothing but contradictions and retcons and "recontextualization" and ruining beloved characters.
"They're easy to fix" sure, but why do we even have problems that need fixing in the first place? Blizz have been making WoW for nearly 20 years now, they have mountains of data on what players do and don't like, yet they continue to make bad decision after bad decision on every front.
The difference between a competent and devoted developer is night and day when you compare Blizz and SquareEnix. Blizz has nothing but hate for players and only ever cares about subs and whale store mounts, while SquareEnix is actually humble, listens to their players, and wants to do what is fun and best for the players. YoshiP, the head of FFXIV development, has directly stated multiple times on record that he believes people should be able to not log in to FFXIV for weeks at a time and not feel left behind, that you can go that long and still have the same character power as before a break, and that people should be able to have the time to play other games or have other hobbies.
Compared to that, Blizz and WoW are a toxic abusive relationship. They make the same shit decisions every patch, only to half way walk back those bad designs several patches later or only at the end of the xpac. Every single time they "fix" their own intentionally bad designs is like an abusive partner saying "I promise this time will be different" and then it never is.

  14. Last xpax people were complaining about how world quests all felt the same as the legion ones. Now they’re too different. Can the devs actually win this battle?

I get the complaint to a point, but if the rewards had been better than a handful of anima at most, I don’t think the multiple steps would have been as big a complaint. It just all felt like a lot of work to still he anima-starved months after launch. As you said, it felt like nothing we did impacted the storyline. That’s always been a bit of an issue, but it is especially an issue this expansion because we can’t be like “well, at least we have stopped X from happening” or “Y will sure cause some problems for the Jailer.”

I don’t mind a rep grind for something, esp for the key factions in an xpac, to unlock something cool. I do mind the pointless time gating of the story in this xpac. I left the week after the 9.1 launch and have just come back this week, and it’s super nice just being able to chew through several renown levels in one session.

My biggest frustration is and always will be the desire to make us run through everything instead of letting us fly. The Maw was even worse, even with ghost wolf. It wasn’t even particularly pretty. It was ugly landscape it was a beast to get around in. Why? It made the game less fun.

I have some hope that the leadership shakeup will mean that some of the decisions that got and kept us here will be gone. The lack of covenant skip may just have been an implementation thing rather than a story thing. I’m willing to give that the benefit of the doubt, especially as I haven’t done all the covenants because I refuse to do the Maw intro again.

  15. Why would they go back on the covenant campaign unlock on alts? I feel like that would have helped with issues from the start to be more "alt friendly" like they were claiming this expansion to be. If I put in my time to finish the venthyr or kyrian campaign storyline, I should be able to have it unlocked for alts.

  16. All the rep grinding, anima, time gating everything, convenants, renowns, and the M+ gear is higher ilvl then heroic raiding. The need to have a M+ level to level up gear. I have over 10000 VP, but can't use it since I don't run enough M+ to use it!!

  17. what about the problems guilds are having with recruiting after there server is dying.. ?? players don't want to pay to transfer 3-8 chars just to see and play with other ppl.. blizzard should have a look at the servers and remove 35-50% of them..

  18. One of the worst things for me personally has been the lack of social aspects. I've had 2 guilds die on me so far this expac and my new one is seeing a dramatic decrease in people that want to do anything outside of scheduled contents like raids.

  19. Instead of inventing new ideas and moving forward, they purposely set themselves back to later bring them up to par with the QoL implementations that should have been in from the start, just to appease the suits. If we tell them to walk, they will shoot their own foot just to spend months bandaging it and finally start walking near the end of the expansion cycle. Then do it over again next expansion
