  1. it's not vengeance it's justice she literally killed and burned soo many people
you can't simply just wipe hundred of thousands of people and just get a redemption arc

  2. What? Did they just turn Elune, one of the most revered entities in WoW since always into a bumbling fool? I had really high hopes when they made connections between elune and the old gods in legion, would give alot of depth to the world by not making all the old gods crazy black align entities. Also are they giving a way out to Sylvanas, "Sorry I burned your tree but it was really elunes fault", I think they watched that scene in south park where they did financial decisions by decapitating a chicken and checking where it stopped and said "Get me 100 chickens!".

  3. Yeah, now Tyrande gets a choice when her perfect opportunity is taken away. It feels like the writers make a choice on something like making her the Night Warrior and then decide “Nah, let’s change it” every expansion / patch cycle.

It happened with Jaina in BfA. She started out going full horde distrust and seemed to want revenge and helped assassinate Rastakhan. Then Daddy Thrall comes along and we’re all happy friends again.

Hiya Folks! The cinematic was actually very beautiful, and I've grown to love everything the cinematic team does with Night Elves. The music, the aesthetic and the star tattoos are a lovely touch. Wish we could've seen Night Warrior Tyrande a bit more, since the aggressive, warglaive wielding former priestess was one of my favorite arcs since 2018, only to have it end so abrupt.

  5. A shame we may never see how this plays out all because the people who tell this amazing story would rather imitate a part of it by burning themselves down in an attempt to purge the corruption instead of simply removing the corruption & carrying on.

  6. 1. We have to understand where each race in Azeroth goes when they die next time. Also, not all gods & entities are omnipotent.
    2. The Night Elves were supposed to become WISPS after they die, but Elune decided to send all of them to Ardenweald.
    3. Elune didn't have the power to intervene and save Ysera from being struck down and corrupted by Xavius.

  7. So she could of prevented the Darkshore bonfire for a all knowing goddess she knows nothing. But hay at lest Elune "cares" for her beloved mana source.
And yet again Sylvanas did nothing wrong & is best girl.

  8. So, when Sylvannas burns their home Tyrande goes nuts with rage and summons the night warrior to exact vengeance.

Elune abandons her as she's about to exact her revenge and then reveals, only to her equal, that she was the one that allowed Tyrande's people to die so she could help her equal. Only to have Tyrande call it "beautiful."

I was never a fan of Sylvannas razing Teldrassil but this seems worse. I'm not apoplectic about it but it just doesn't seem consistent. The cinematics look good at least.

  9. So Elune treats mortals as batteries for Ardenweald and manipulated the Jailer to get Sylvanas to kill them all to that end? So she let the baddy kill them all in a terrible painful way to be batteries? All of the Night Elves should basically think of Elune as the devil and Ardenweald as Hell now, shouldn't they?

  10. I've never seen so many professional writers and story analists. Blizzard really have no chance against all your complete and efficient analyzes without any bias you can make in record times! :O

If you actually play that game, you know Tyrande was "lost", blinded by vengeance. But then she explain that she realized this use of Elune powers won't help her people at all, that's why she made this final choice and abandoned her vengeance with her clear mind (so it wouldn't have be the case if Elune hasn't stopped her (maybe she still was also about to die tho)).
This is one of the main theme of Shadowlands narration. Vengeance or Justice and the choice. Same thing for Uther, or for people like Kael'thas in Revendreth, and obviously Sylvanas who never had the choice (act or spend an eternity of suffering is not really a choice)

Now for less informed people : this cinematic explain that, as others Eternals, Elune isn't omnicient. She wanted to help Shadowlands and Ardenwald in particular by sending dying Night elves to the Arbiter, instead of keeping them with her as usual and return them as wisps. But obvisouly, as the Arbiter was broken they all fell into the Maw.

If you made any off-topic comparison about Activision or the people who acted wrong in Blizzard (among hundreds of honest humans just doing their job in case you forgot), I'm sorry but you can't be saved, but I'm sure you'll enjoy WotLK Classic perfect coherent and faithful lore Blizzard made at a time where there was absolutely no money or social problem, without any billionar above them!
(Spoil : every single of these last statements was false)

Personally the only reason why I dont like this cinematic is Tyrande hair returning to that annoying green x)

Now I think Blizzard should add a narrator in WoW, continuously explaining the story for every loremasters who don't even read quests, that would be expensive but maybe efficient…

It's not false to say that the lore is in puzzle so hardly understandable, because of how enormous it is with all the elements spread among the contents. For example BfA novel was way too important to understand the expansion, but at least it's more okay with the last SL novel. So at this point it's legit to criticize Blizzard narration… Not the story itself.

But that's also why we have Youtube videos from people who could study everything… Well, I think in English Youtube there are a lot more of clickbaiter than actual lorists but you should have actual passionates ones to recompose and explain everything Blizzard made before judging.

So yes, WoW never had a really amazing lore, it's worse when we look at the old Warcraft games… but the lore we can get since some expansions is just fine and constantly improving (except with WoD maybe), and in the same time they create future elements, they try to correct all the shit they did in the firsts expansions when they didn't know were they were going…

That's why I don't understand where you all do come from, if you don't like WoW lore nowadays… you should just have left it 17 years ago without looking behind you.

  11. So… Elune made Sylvanas dumb and burn the tree? Jailor had nothing to do with that? Bruh moment.

Fuck it I'm never playing retail wow again as far as I'm concerned this is non-canon.

  12. I love that a bunch of sweaty neck beards who've never written a book in their life much less get it published act like they can write a better story that doesn't eventually have some sort of plot hole.

This entire thread is a prime example of why the WoW player base fucking sucks, you guys are literally unpleasable.

You're always gonna complain about something, Elune and Tyrande are too different fucking people, just because tyrande invoked her power and chose vengeance doesn't mean that is what elune wants or that she doesn't see a better way, it's her fucking power. She still gave her a choice and she chose renewal.

  13. This is bad writing imo. Specifically that Elune is unveiled like this. One of the only remaining mysteries in WoW is who Elune is and at first I thought it was a bit much to have the Night Queen refer to her as sister, but now she straight up uses Tyrande as a medium to talk through? Must every rock be left, turned? What is it with their obsession of destroying every last bit of mystery and suspense in this universe. It's so boring. Old gods get bitchslapped by mortal people, Gods are laughed at as impotent beings and even on the lower line up of hierachies, kings and queens are just used for soapie sub-plots such as Anduin smacking his boyfriend in the face – The guy might as well hve said "you stupid baka" it was seriously on the verge of being that bad. By BfA I used to think that they had a hard time conveying the plot because it's told in so many different places of the game (daily quests, raids, dungeons etc.) but now I think they just don't care, just like how they don't care for developing any gameplay in the game and only sustain it to milk the whales for money.
