It’s basically just a great lil rp system to decorate, add some more flavor and make use of older assets/zones, bring back some good garrison features like running old content for music tracks to play on the garrison. Add in woodworking, and the ability to chop trees, which was a core element of the rts. Use all the existing furniture so not much new stuff has to be made. Many different styles from Suramar Orgrimarr, Exadar, Silvermoon, etc. to pull decorations from. There are a lot. Just need a system to craft them.
Overall they did not get close with garrisons because had to scrap things that would have made it better, like placing it in other zones. Freeform placing your buildings. But it was far from perfect.
Think of basebuilding in survival games like Arc, Rust, Palworld. NMS. Leagues ahead of the garrison. That is what we want.
There is literally no downside to player housing. I like the way New World did it. Have small and large towns with player houses, shops, and crafting benches. Minus the taxes. That was stupid.
