Turtle World of Warcraft is a private World of Warcraft Classic server lead by small development team. This is not an official Blizzard World of Warcraft server and because.
The small development team has created their own WoW Classic + experience with a fully unique storyline, zones and races.
As their new project the team is not only adding to World of Warcraft Classic but also upgrading its graphics by recreating it in Unreal Engine, coming in 2025.

  1. What are you talking about? Vanilla is clearly profitable for Blizzard. It's blizzard after all. If keeping the classic era is not profitable they would not do it at all. There are several players who only play classic and they have subscription for it. Even it is a plus factor deciding not to stop the subscription if someone is burnt out from retail or cata. The cost of keeping the classic era is negligible. That's why they even played with the idea of changing it (SoD). Classic is 20 years old, i think they are happy it still brings money to the kitchen. Lack of microtransactions in vanilla is absolutely not a problem for them, it would hurt the business.

Don't underestimate the cost of the subscription.

Blizzards is just to afraid and greedy to invest. For example a motor upgrade is needed for years now. TurtleWoW is a free pilot for them. They won't shut it down. They can learn from the feedbacks. After all this is what blizzard doing best, using people to work for them for free or even they pay for it (like beta).

  3. It's actually insane how people don't even understand what they see and think there is some huge rework or something lol…. Guess you have to wait and log in to comprehend you've been on copium and there was nothing special done…

  4. The average WoW player spends 10x what a Era player spends, so Blizzards doesn't care what they do. Blizzard uses its own engine for WoW and is never going to pay to use UE5.

  5. Yeah, I agree with you on the legality of creators streaming and making content. But the server is based in Russia. Blizzard can’t touch turtle wow. And apparently the devs don’t plan on stopping anytime soon.
