Redemption arcs in World of Warcraft is all too common but will Shadowlands bring redemption for the Dark Lady or is Blizzard playing a bigger game here?

  1. Shadowlands will explain Sylvanas, but it will not redeem her. At least in the eyes of those on Azeroth. After her laundry list of crimes, she cannot be redeemed anyway in Azeroth. But in Revendreth, with a sincere desire to atone? Perhaps in a millenia or three.

  2. I think by the end of the expansion the jailer and arbiter will both be destroyed and Sylvanas will remain in the Shadowlands to look over the new "free" system. There will certainly be some betrayals and double crossing along the way though. (Either Sylvanas helping the jailer break the system then betraying him or her helping defeat the jailer only to flip and break the system afterwards herself)

  3. I think if there's anyone who understands betraying their planet for what they think is the good of the cosmos, it'd be Prophet Velen. Especially when his people were enslaved by Disorder. He was never redeemed. He had to take responsibility when he returned to his home. I think this parallel will come into play.

I get the feeling though that Sylvanas never intended on returning to Azeroth. But she'll have a change of heart, I'm sure. Blizzard knows she's a popular character. Though I would love to see her as a leader in Maldraxxas some day. She has the prowess for Undead Army leadership. I actually wondered at one point if she was going to be able to take over Maldraxxas as a permanent home for her Forsaken.

  4. The orbiter was never an original eternal on she is the part of the jailer that is missing in his chest, the jailer is being manipulated by sire D. Us beating sire D so early is to take the thought of him being the big bad out of our minds. Does sire D look like he would play second fiddle to anyone??? He is the one who will lead us into the next expansion and travel the cosmos he just needed to break the tether that bind him to the shadow lands and the jailer was the perfect opportunity hence the reason he manipulated him turned his original self who held the place of the orbiter and once doing so had his heart ripped from his chest thus the orbiter was born and they fought to jail him because like sylvannas he no longer knew emotions

  5. On another note. I don’t quite understand the role of the elementals in all of this. What are all of these ghastly creatures in the maw with the elemental tag on them

  6. I've loved Sylvanas since the beginning. She's an amazingly written character; dynamic and clever. I've loved watching her evolution, and am so happy for her to be redeemed. Loyal to the end! And waiting for my 'Loyal' Title! 😀

  7. "her goal is noble" but yeah let her just burn a bunch of people, including children in the process. Let's talk about the level of ego there, because she thinks that the shadowlands system is an abomination, doesn't mean everybody should! hey i like SL, good content so far and the system is good :p

  8. I don´t think we will face the first ones in a raid. I rather think that they have been tricked or they simply don´t realize that taking the choice away from a soul where they want to spent their eternity, is a bad thing (or not fair at least).

For example in the dungeons spires of ascencion, the archon admits in the end, after the defeat of Devos, that their ways might not be completly right:
Kyrestia the Firstborne says: You have my gratitude. Once the Jailer lies defeated… there may be much for the kyrian to discuss.

So she realizes that the path might be flawed, that Devos was right in a way. But teaming up with the Jailer wasn´t right either.

The Winterqueen as well recognizes us for our deeds for the ardenweald. She even calls upon us the maw walker, to lead the charge, as she called to war to fight the Jailer at the end of the nightfae campagne. I don´t think she would do that, if we were to face her in the end. She wants to save her realm, she even sacrifices her own anima and life essence to keep the Ardenweald alive. ( If I remember correctly, Gorak Zhar calls her "the withering queen")

  9. Maybe someone could tell me because i think i missed something here, So sylvanas was made into the banshee queen by arthus who wielded the helm of domination and Frost Morne. why is sylvanas willing to serve the man that was directly linked between either crafting or at the very least releasing the information to whom created them, I just can't see myself be a puppet to someone like that. I could in fact see myself using them for my end means though.

  11. I think its gonna come down to what it always has. The horde and alliance working together to take down a common enemy that they cant do on their own. This time however, because Anduin has so many friends on both sides, he will be the bridge, after some convincing of course. A redemption story, I dont think so, but an understanding like Illidan, I see many parallels here, and the sad thing is, is I dont think she will ever be accepted fully by either the horde or alliance again, but called upon when needed. It seems she has cemented herself is at least an ally to the Wrynn's, Varian, which I have a feeling in 9.1 or later we will see him again, for sure and Anduin soon. Tear it all down and remake it the way it should be in the end for the SLs

  12. Okay, I am doing it. With the perspective on Sylvanas we have on shadowlands, I think the screenshot could impy she cares about her people, because Forsaken shared the same fate as her. However, I think her love is extended only to her people, which doesn't make her a benevolent leader. Nathanos said in dialogue with Garona in BFA, that he wants to see every human of the alliance to be turned into undeath and the boy-king to kneel in front of Sylvanas because he despies alliance for turning their back on the Forsaken. So if that was her goal as well, even though she probably has different motives, it is a bad resolution, even if her intensions are noble. Sort of "only sith deals in absolutes". Illidan is a character who deals in absolutes and in the end he was right to do what he did, but I wonder if good result always justify the actions. In that case I don't think she should have started this war. At least I don't understand her motive behind the war for now. Change my mind Acco.

Okay, so my opinions stands, but with some colours to it. So her actions were directed by the Jailer in order to achieve her ends all this time. "She is patient, that one". Her intention is indeed noble, to bring down shadowlands, because it is truly injust, that all this cosmological forces favour those most obedient and those who would suit their purpose best. Such world is just one big manipulation. However her actions are not something to be forgiven without sanction. In one of your previous videos you stated something which I consider fundimental to her caracter. You said that she was focused all her life on one choice she was denied and all her actions were influenced by that choice, which is a blindness. Great video as always. Thank you for effort, this is the most enjoyable channel on youtube for me. I just love how deep you go with all of that. I do admire your intelligence sir

  13. Accolon I've been thinking about that in every pantheon of every cosmical force theres a representative of each cosmical force inside of it:

    For example:

    Pantheon of Arcane:

    Amanthul: Arcane/Light
    Eonar: Arcane/Life
    Norgannon: Arcane/Arcane
    Argus: Arcane/Death
    Sargeras: Arcane/Fel
(I know an Arcane/Void would be missing, but we don't know yet how many titans are really out there)

    Pantheon of Death:
    Kyrestia: Death/Light
    Arbiter: Death/Arcane
    Winter Queen: Death/Life
    Primus: Death/Death
    Denathrius: Death/Fel
    Zovaal: Death/Void

What do you think about this?

  14. thank you for this. I haven't played WoW in 2yrs, but I still keep up to date on the story, mainly because of Sylvana. I have loved her since I first played, and I agree with you about her past and she had no control over her actions once she turned into a banshee…thank you…I love to see if this plays out like this 🙂

  15. I personally think Sylvanas and Anduin will be the final bosses of the expansion, or at least theyll be working together after anduin gets shalamourne (?) and becomes a kinda new lich king, but, shalamayne can be splited in two, one for anduin, one for sylvanas, the jailer cant control both at the same time, not with their strong will, so Sylvanas and Anduin will knock the jailer out, but they will reign now as two kings (not as a couple btw, that would be cheesy), its kinda sketchy but i think it would be nice
