Since I only got to watch cinematics last time, I decided to try out Retail WoW again and see how much fun Mage REALLY is! The main issue is, I don’t know where to go…SO! I got my editor and his friend Danny to make up a little mini adventure guide to help make my WoW experience more fun. Enjoy!!

  1. he's so overreacting to the opening being "chaotic" and "confusing" . A cutscene ensues and he's like "whoooaaaa WHhAt iS HappPAeNinG?!?" as if he's fundamentally baffled by the notion of cutscenes. you've been playing games for 30 yrs nothing should confuse you anymore except for weird cerebral indie stuff.

  2. Classic has an amazing leveling experience but terrible endgame

Retail has a terrible leveling experience but amazing endgame

Basically if you don't plan to stick with WoW for very long, play Classic cause it'll be more fun. If you want a new game to no-life then play Retail cause you'll have more fun.

  3. As someone with a terrible sense of direction, I really enjoy the map telling me where to go instead of needing to read the quest text. Also the best advice for a WoW player is to read your spells and passives if nothing else.

  4. Good idea to replace the introduction. I know a few other games that could really benefit from this sort of content… mostly MMOs.
I will say that I would really love to see more WoW Classic much more than retail. That felt like you were genuinely having fun because of the game itself.

  5. 29:50 Uh "hours"? We measure in days and years in WoW… Thousands of "days", not "hours"

I personally clock somewhere around 1000-1500 days played since 2004 and during the TBC launch year, I clocked about 14 hours of WoW per day for over a year straight (literally every single day). Yeah it was an addiction, and I'm glad that I'm finally over it so I can actually do other things too in my life. Still no regrets tho. It was probably the best year of my life, even if it caused me to have legit health issues for a while (nothing too serious tho)

And there's people who have played way more than I have out there.

  6. Hey Sean, watching you try WoW classic and retail has been really enjoyable. Have you thought about giving other mmos like Final Fantasy 14, Guild Wars 2, Elder Scrolls Online, Star Wars The Old Republic and others a go the same way you did with WoW?

  7. loose math.. my played time of WoW would be somewhere in the ballpark of 42000 hours.. .. so just under 5 years played

and in all honesty.. that is probably lowballing it

  8. Let's be honest. When Sean started listing all the things he intended to achieve during these 5 hours, we all knew he wasn't even gonna pull and kill 6 mobs let alone get out of Redridge and travel to Un'goro. 🤣

  9. This has been super wholesome. I started playing wow when I was 11. Which was 20 years ago. Seeing Day9 just galavanting around has been weirdly cathartic for me. I got yelled at a lot by strangers all while I played this game until I got good enough that, nowadays, I'm mostly ignored. I really love this game, the way people act when they play it is awful.

  10. it´s like watching a cat trying to fly a kite it´s hilarious, you never really realise how much you take for granted like the lingo (like the whole "pull 6 mobs and defeat em") after so many years playing wow

  11. I had a real unhealthy relationship with WoW from Mists of Pandara through Legion, and recently have had a strong urge to go back. Watching you play retail has really helped me scratch that itch while reminding myself why I finally quit.
