Welcome back adventurers. Let’s talk about the radiant echoes catchup pre-patch event for the war within and why I’m so miffed about it. Radiant echoes is a new event that happens every 90 minutes granting you access to a new currency, residual memories.

  1. I am feeling a bit underwhelmed by the War Within pre-patch event. I think had Blizzard kept their word about the scourge plague, they would have nailed it for the Shadowlands pre-patch event and they nearly had it perfect during the Dragonflight pre-patch event. Even the Cataclysm pre-patch event was better than this mess. I can't say I like the timing or the busy-work approach to summoning the zone bosses. It stinks of the same endless busy-work we had all through Dragonflight that led to the slow death of the expansion more than anything else, everything was the same thing with a coat of paint. And you are spot on about the reality of having to be there in the first 7 minutes or you will be wasting your time. And just like Remix, the prices of "rewards" vs drop rate of the special event currency is way out of balance, rendering the effort:reward equation to be untenable for everyone unable to no-life the event.

All but one of my 27 retail characters currently have better gear than I can get from the pre-patch event. I am not keeping any of my Remix alts longer than doing the heritage armor quests for the races I am missing an achievement for. Even if I keep them, I am pretty sure I could get them geared to 500-ish with a lot less effort than grinding this event. So, I am not entirely sure what I want from the WW pre-patch event other than the heirloom ring and maybe one of the pets, because the event transmog is pure naff.
