Feel like mongoose bite should be baseline, the other talents look cool but wont be used at all…
would so love to get rid of kill command…. imagine standing in melee to a an enemy and pointing your weapon in their face to command your pet to attack, why not just fucking stab them instead?
That armor looks actually great. Normaly Hunter has the worst looking armor but damn I really love the minimalistic look. The thing is no one plays survival, so they have like 1 day before launch priority.

Alpha predator, guerilla tactics and mongoose bite should all be baseline instead of talents by now. The spec just doesn’t feel good without them

not a fan of mongoose bite because you will get deadzones so i go for flanking strike
The Core Ability for the Sv hunter is Mongoose Bite with his passive Mongoose Fury
Why is the hunter not built around these skills??
This is like the "Fire Mage" need to talented into Pyroblast…. -.-
This is How I would Rework the Survival Hunter.
-First of all "Mongoose Bite" Baseline ( No focus Cost & a 5 Secound CD scale with Haste )
-Change our Mastery, "Mongoose Fury": Mongoose Bite increases the DMG of all your focus spending abilitys by X% for 20 secounds up to 5 times.
Successive attacks do not increase the duration
Remove a lot of talents:
Vipers Venom
Terms of Engagement
Hydras Bite
Trailblazer
Naturals Mending
a Murder of crows
Bloodseeker
Born to the wild
Give the Survival some Abilitys Baseline:
Camouflage
Survivalist
Steel Trap
And would rework some Abilitys & Talents:
Aspect of the Eagle: Ability
1,5 MIN CD
Increases the Range from Raptor Strike to 40 meters,
and Raptor Strike hit to 4 nearby Enemies ( 5 Enemy Cap )
Coordinated Assult: Ability
2 MIN CD
You and your pet attacks as one,
increasing the haste by 10% and give you for 20 sec. 5 stacks of Mongoose Fury.
Serpent sting: Ability
a 10 secound fix duration ( ticks scale by haste )
and hits 2 target
Wildfire Bomb: Ability
Reduce the CD to 10 secounds ( scale with haste )
Carve: Ability
dont reduce the CD of wildfire bomb anymore, and deal now much more dmg!
( 5 enemy Cap )
Tip of the Spear: Talent
Kill Command reduce the cost of "Raptor Strike" by 10 focus, and increases the DMG by 10%.
Stacking up to 2 times.
Butchery: Talent
3 Charges
Replaces Carve.
Butchery deals 5% more DMG for each additional target hit
( 5 enemy Cap )
Flanking Strike: Talent
30 SEC CD
You and your pet leap to the target and strike it as one.
Generates 15 Focus and give one stack of Mongoose Fury.
Birds of Pray: Talent
Give you additional 10% Crit.
Increases the Critial DMG by 30%.
Some Old & New Abilitys ( changed a bit ):
Aspect of the Fox: Talent
PASSIVE
Increases your and your allies Movement speed by 10% ( not stackable with similar buffs )
Aspect of the Hawk: Talent
3 MIN CD
Allies within 40 meters, allowing to move while casting for 8 sec.
Aspect of the monkey: Talent
PASSIVE
Increases the Dodge for you & your allies by 5%
Fury of the eagle: Talent
45 SEC CD
Furiosly strikes all enemies in front of you.
( DMG increased by Mongoose Fury & increase the duration while channeling )
Waylay: Talent
PASSIVE
Your traps become fully armed, making them espacially devistating.
( Freeze- Tar- Steel- Traps + Caltrops )
Caltrops: Talent
15 sec CD
scatters Caltrops in a area for 18 secounds.
Deal dmg and reduce the movemendspeed for 70% by 6 sec.
Eagle's bite: Talent
PASSIVE
Harpoon applies a dot over 12 sec.
Atuo hits extend the duration by 3 sec.
Hardened turtle Shell: Talent
Aspect of the turtle prevent you from attacking.
The CD is reduce by 20%
Lacerate: Talent
Tears a bleeding wounds to the taarget over 12 sec.
everytime lacerate deals dmg,
has a chance from 5% to give you a stack of Mongoose Fury.
For the talent rows, I thought
that each row should have its own theme like regenartion, single target, Aoe or specific Abilitys.
I have described each talent, I only write the names here.
Talents:
LVL 15
The first Row is about Focus regeneration:
Flanking Strike / Tip of the Spear / Alpha Predator
LVL 25
this row is about our Bomb:
Guerilla Tactics / Wildfire Infusion / ???
LVL 30
This row is about Aspects+ Groups Utility
Aspect of the Fox / Aspect of the Hawk / Aspect of the Monkey
LVL 35
This row is about filler Abilites
for filler Single or Aoe or Both
Eagle's bite / Caltrops / Chakrams
LVL 40
Again a Utility Row ( just for us )
Hardened turtle shell / Posthaste / Binding shot
LVL 45
This is a BIG AOE DMG ROW
Butchery / Fury of the Eagle / Waylay
LVL 50
This row Interacts with our Core gameplay,
now you can decide to be more consistent, or have a much more busty gameplay
Birds of Prey Lacerate / ???
I also thought to give us a Raid Utility ( aspect of the Hawk ) to secure a Raidspot 😛
For the 2 missing talents, I unfortunately had no ideas…
Maybe they could some new CD's
Example for the Bomb row:
Maybe a Big Bomb replaced our wildfire bomb, do much more DMG but had a 1 min CD
or something like that….
In conclusion, I've been playing the survival hunter since the beginning of Legion.
And I've never been so disappointed as this time.
I mean my rework, which I just presented here, took less than 20 minutes.
But goes into more detail than the current survival hunter.
Pls Blizz, PLS Do something……

I wanna play survival soooo bad but im scared people will just… stay away from me lol
The spec itself is an abomination on top of having no work done on it. Survival isn't even supposed to be a melee spec in the first place. If anything, BM should be the melee spec like Rexxar, the guy it was based on, while SV is a versatile master of traps and gorilla tactics like Rambo or Dutch. MoP Survival was overall the best if you mix in some elements of TBC abilities like Wyvern Sting, Readiness, Clever Traps, Entrapment, Snake Trap, Deterrence, and Expose Weakness, along with Legion's Trap Mastery talent, then you've got a proper Survival. Black Arrow should give Lock and Load for Wildfire Bombs. They also need DoT damage to be the focus recharge, not some sluggish pet mechanic that gets in the way of your rotation. Bring back dual wielding too ffs. If they want a simple solution, then that's it.

I'm having fun on survival.
I wish aspect of eagle was low cd or a passive (it's just more fun throwing an eagle than bopping with weapon)
I still feel that BM should be the Melee spec, not Survival. And that rotation IS boring. And confusing, too, this is just a weird and ugly mix of range and melee. Your Harpoon has less range than your "crossbow skills", like Serpent Sting and Kill Shot. Aspect of the Eagle is virtually useless, as you're much better of hitting in melee as to not waste your auto-attacks. And making Mongoose Bite its own skill is just criminal.
Tbh if Blizzard knew what they were doing with Hunters, they would have made BM the dualwielding melee spec and survival the second ranged spec along with MM.
i never understood this spec, why are Hunter melee ??
the idea of a meele combined with a range seems great the problem is that in practice you become one more meele because there is nothing that would force you to get away from the boss if they redesigned the harpoon tool and it was a real harpoon that did damage and bleeding then one would be forced to move away from the boss, which would make specialization more dynamic for saying something

they should have reworked survival to a banshee/dot type spec…
